A posthumous release done right, you can tell that producer John Brian and Mac’s family were really passionate and caring with it and manages to give Macs final album a great send off. Not gonna lie I wasn’t expecting to get emotional during this thing ,but I remember on the first listen, I was taking a walk and saw the moon shine really bright behind the clouds and thought to myself, hey that’s a perfect circle. I won’t also forget the other listens that I had starting ... read more
Glad to have revisited this project from them since last time I heard it, I wasn’t really sold on it, but spoilers it’s great. Definitely Pink Floyd at their most political since during the time of making animals, bassist Roger Waters would start taking more influence in the band. The concept of animals was inspired by George Orwell’s book Animal Farm. With having the pigs on the album being politicians same as the pigs taking over the farm and now them drawing the role of the ... read more
Dude don’t miss, in my early days of knowing about Denzel Curry I kinda thought of him as some of those basic aggressive trap artists that blended together in the genre. However when I got into him all my opinions have totally changed for me. Now I see him as someone who has a lot to say and brings a great flow and delivery to it and throughout TA13OO he manages to show his most range when it comes to his flows and rapping ability. Now TA13OO I would say is one of his most complex ... read more
Quite excellent when you get around to this albums sound and feel. This album seems like a perfect timing for me, I was slowly getting into both artist at the time and loved Peggy’s wild of the wall energy and Danny Browns chaotic record Atrocity Exhibition, so when I heard the single Lean Peef Patty I could not stop bumping it everyday til this thing came out. At first listen it felt like I was getting to tinnitus, maybe because of the mixing and to be honest I’ve never heard an ... read more
Very moody and funky is what I can describe swimming as. My first exposure to swimming itself was the track self care ,which i thought was a pretty great track and packed a lot of emotion. It wouldn’t be on til later that I would give this a listen with first hearing snippets like the summer Ocean vibe come back to earth, the Beach sounding small worlds witch I did like but has kinda grown of me with listening to the entire album, I don’t know just doesn’t deliver it for me ... read more
Uuuuh now this was pretty neat to hear, Kali Uchis 3rd studio is one of the feelings of love and romanticism that goes through its 43min run. With it’s Neo soul and R&B it sounds pretty good and coupled with Kali’s vocals it sounds heavenly and pretty good, especially when she sings from English to Spanish going from one language to another which is just pure magic. To be honest I think I enjoy the second side a little more than the first one, throughout its tracks there are ... read more
Tyler throughout his discography has always proven to be someone who time and time again evolves and proceeds to move forward with his sound and this one is no exception. Flower boy sees Tyler pouring out his feelings, about what he’s thinking and about his sexuality with songs like Garden shed, November and glitter showing affection for someone. It was also an album that Tyler played it a little bit safe on this project after coming from his very divisive and mixed cherry bomb, he had to ... read more
So this is the picture every White girl in college has on they’re T-shirt. In all seriousness this would be the start of Pink Floyd’s sicko period where they went sicko mode and would release some of there four most classical albums in the discography starting with this one. This album really demonstrates how far Pink Floyd has come with there’re sound of how much they’ve grown since their early days. There are many classics and bangers on here and it really shows why ... read more
Really great stuff from Pink Floyd especially One of my favorites from them. To me this album has grown so much for me both in terms of how I got introduced to it, but I also about the context of the album and what it’s trying to say. If you don’t know it already this album is a tribute to there late friend Syd Barrett and was the one that founded Pink Floyd in the first place. However like most rock ‘n’ roll stars of the time Syd became addicted to cocaine and others ... read more
Quality is what I can describe about Anderson Paak.’s music, Even though it might not blow me away or might not Hail his music as much as I do now, I had an incredible Paak. Phase so decided to start with this project since it had one of my favorite songs that introduced me to the man which was Tints. Honestly you don’t wanna know how many times I’ve played this song, It was honestly like crack or cocaine, it was the best feeling ever, it’s great throwback to funk, Paak. ... read more
Pretty underrated in my opinion, One of the more laid-back and summer sounding Gorillaz albums that we’ve gotten. The now now was quite an interesting album in there discography, coming of the mixed bag that was humanz and before in 2020 that we would get song machine. To me it’s a quite overlooked album that has a lot of cool gems in it, apart from humility there are some great tracks to be found here like the groovy track kanas, the awesome instrumental track Lake Zurich, the ... read more
Ok then, this is a big one, either you love it or think that it is pretty overrated, you will hear someone pressing this thing for the hundredth time .But for me it was on of the first records I really fell ind love with and made me feel something emotionally. OK computer by Radiohead was a pretty big left turn for them and wouldn’t be their last they would make. It’s a record that generally has a lot of social commentary and is pretty effective and even relevant today. If you can ... read more
Now this was pretty cool to little listen, I was first introduced to Mac With the track on the level, witch I thought was a cool vibe and had a lot of flavor and charm to it. So going into this thing I expected to get some cool indie pop and well I did. It’s a fairly laid-back record that’s not trying to do anything really revolutionary, but it’s more Mac DeMarco just having fun on a record and just doing what he wants to do and I respect him for that. I do like a lot of the ... read more
My feelings with this thing has quite changed throughout its roll out and after it was released. Now coming from a guy who’s listen to all of Gorillaz’s discography and being a fan of theres, finding out they released a new single called cracker island and knowing that there was gonna be a new album I was pumped. Then a couple other singles came out that I listen to specifically was New Gold featuring bootie Brown and tame Impala and a bit of Baby Queen aka the FIFA song. However I ... read more
Literally had a period where could not listen to anything then Anderson .Paak and this album I held with high praise. Now returning to it after so long I still think it hold up pretty well, but not to where I praised it like the second coming of Christ. it’s a little downbeat with its soul, funk and R&B that I love .Paak’s take on. Very smooth, Great swagger, cool features as well on here and of course Anderson delivers it with his very confident vocals on the Lp as usual. A ... read more
Honestly listening to this album again, I would never thought I would say this, but I prefer two against nature over this. So here we are the final steely Dan album everything must go is kind of boring. It feels flavorless, uninspired and just forgettable in my opinion and to me that’s the worst kind of album then having some of that just sounds bad. Well it’s not bad sounding far from it it just sounds like if you tried to eat burnt popcorn that stood out for days, to me none of ... read more
Getting back into old music was quite interesting, to get me back ind i’ve listened to the In The Court of the Crimson King by king Crimson, what’s going on by Marvin Gaye and this one which was a generally a Great way to get back into it. this was also a great way to get back into Bowie’s discography again, but anyways this is considered the start of Bowies great Berlin trilogy consisting of low, heroes and lodger, all these three records were in collaboration between Bowie ... read more
For sometime now after gaucho steely Dan had officially broken up and a long hiatus would follow that long period, they would only then reunite in the year 2000 after 20 years. And what they gave us was, well it was kind of bland. This new wave of steely Dan I like to call the modern era is consistent of two albums this record and everything must go. starting it off infeel like a lot of the tracks in here feel pretty bland, boring and it just doesn’t work, it feels like an imitation of ... read more
Even after there big debut album can’t buy a thrill, steely Dan manages to make a pretty decent sophomore album with countdown to ecstasy. I remember when I first listened to this album I thought it was pretty mid and I didn’t like it, but revisiting it now I do you still have some complaints about it but they’re not that big and I overall do really enjoy this project. Starting with The fast paste Bodhisattva witch just goes incredibly hard, along with the next track Razor boy ... read more
Definitely have been talking a lot about Aja from my reviews of Steely Dan but this one is an exception and one of they’re all time bests as well. Such a great debut album, it has some Great songs on here with great hooks choruses and are pretty cool to sing-along too. It’s interesting to meet a steely Dan who started out with not solely being Donald Fagen and Walter Becker all on there own, But were a much bigger band and you can definitely hear that in some of the songs and ... read more
