Bruno Mars - The Romantic
60

30 Minutes of feeling like I'm in the sexy chair at a Chris Brown concert, which is somewhere I never wanna be.

It's lacking the earworms I would expect from a Bruno project, but it has all the lows I would expect from one.

Baby Keem - Ca$ino

PUT THE LEGOS IN THIS MAN'S HANDS HE'S BUILDING!!!!

I found myself impressed by the disciplined, tight, and introspective tracklist this thing puts forward. It sounds great, and Keem gives a hell of a performance. One of the main critiques of "Peak" Keem in 2021 was his flow. Keem was seen as a "One flow Pony." You know, the one used on "Praise God" and "Family Ties" heavily. This project shows that he has a range of flows and voices.

杏里 [Anri] - Timely!!

J-POP J-POP J-POP J-POP!!!! Listened to this thing while playing LOL, and it brought my mood up 10-fold. Any album that can do that is pure bliss.

Penny Goodwin - Portrait of a Gemini

This thing is really fun. I love an album that can just help slow me down. This project most definitely did that. It feels like some shit you play after a new beginning. Love it.

femtanyl - MAN BITES DOG

"CRYING FOR YOUR MOMMY LIKE YOUR SHIT DON'T FUCKIN' STINK!!!!"

This thing is so beast at points

It is a shift from the EPs fentanyl has been releasing, but I think the style is a welcome change. The product is so cool and interesting in this deal. "Sick of It" really stuck with me. Its hook and groove are so infectious. With all that said, I think some of the vocal performance left something to be desired at points. The bitcrushed voice style from previous ... read more

Quadeca - i.ii.iii

It's good ig. I was really hoping he would finally drop that song with Tom McDonald.

Mt. Joy - Hope We Have Fun
68

An enjoyable folky tracklist, but it feels like background music.

Mt. Joy - Orange Blood
70

An enjoyable folky tracklist, but it feels like background music.

runo plum - patching
75

An indie album that feels healing to listen to

100 gecs - 1000 gecs
78

WTF is half of this tracklist? I feel like I'm listening to a "disappointing drop" competition. With all that said, the real songs on this project are so, so interesting.

Night Tapes - portals//polarities
80

Elegant and adventurous

Flume - Hi This Is Flume
80

I have no clue if you can call half of these songs, but that's what I like about it. The glitchy nature of this project is so special.

Pick 3: How to build a relationship, Wormhole, Spring

Faye Webster - Atlanta Millionaires Club

What a crazy cover. I enjoyed this project alot, her vocals are such a joy.

Lizzy McAlpine - Older (and Wiser)
90

Her vocals are so elegant and beautiful.

Beyoncé - BEYONCÉ
80

Having Drunkin' Love on a track list makes it that much better.

A$AP Rocky - Don't Be Dumb
72

At its best, it's fun. At its worse, it's inoffensive

Miya Folick - Erotica Veronica (Deluxe)
70

I was put on to Miya when I saw the band Peach Pit live on their "Fall Quest" tour. Ever since, I have been pretty obsessed. Her voice is incredible, and some of these songs are genuinely exceptional. From the regular tracklist, La Da Da, Felicity, and Love Wants Me Dead stick out. Even some deluxe tracks, Elton John and Maybe When I'm Ready, are really strong. However, I wish the rest of the tracklist lived up to those tracks, but alot of them fade into the background, making ... read more

JPEGMAFIA - All My Heroes Are Cornballs

I thought it was fine. Ofc, this is in perspective of all the shit that JPEG has done now, which I think is all much more impressive. However, this project is still super impressive. I just don't see myself coming back to it very often.

Pick 3:
RGO&D X NCLB
Free The Frail
Papi I missed you

Aries - GLASS JAW
82

Aries always comes out of the woods with some of the catchiest hooks you and your friends have ever heard.

This thing feels really sincere, if you know what I mean. It leans on his vocals alot, with some pretty acoustic instrumentals. Aries is an artist that I have been listening to since I was a sophomore in high school, so like 6 years ago now? His music always reminds me of the high school times, windows down, old friends, not knowing what a savings account was. This project is no ... read more

Danny Brown - Stardust
81

Really, really cool. From the single rollout and the open features, this album had me unbelievably excited. It was as if all the artists I've hyperfixated on were on one album.

With the project itself, it marks the first project since rehab for danny brown, and he easily clears any stigmas that come along with that (I have been around countless people who believe rappers get so much worse sober). Danny did a great job delivering in his verses. I love the production and vibe through this ... read more
