Man this album is so fucking sad :( And super relatable to me at the same time. This is defo LUM at his darkest. The lyrics on this are so personally dark at least one of them will have you crying or feeling some sympathy. The production just fits the lyrics so well and creates a dark atmosphere for each song so perfectly. this is truly one of the saddest and most relatable albums I've ever heard. 10/10
0k I'll be fr with y'all, I use to think this one of the most overrated albums of all time. Like I did think it was very good but I didn't think at the time that 'this is one of the best not only Jazz but one of the best albums ever.' And now I can proudly say, my view has changed completely. This is just BANGER after BANGER of sexy Saxophone and drums. And I'm glad to say, I understand it now.
I actually pick this album today on vinyl! (as of the time I am writing this) I pick this album up after countless times of it being it recommended to me and I must say it definitely lived up the HYPE! The production, the gorgeous melodies, nearly everything in this album is just beautiful. My only complaint is I think it could've ended better and like 2 of the songs go on a bit longer than they should go other than that, I can't really say what hasn't been said about this album. Ok the second half of this album is just flawless, this has some the most wildest lyrics I've ever heard and I love it. This has one the best closing tracks I've ever heard on an album too.
Wish It was longer and I think the mixing on Ian's vocals could've been better but it's just overall an amazing 2 songs
The Downward Spiral is an experience into a suicidal, existential, self loathing, sexual frustrated man living in a dystopian and politically corrupted world. The self loathing and sexual frustrated and disturbing but sometimes catchy lyrics, the raw and pounding drums throughout the album, the distorted guitars and bass, the synths, nearly everything about this album makes this a disturbing but fascinating experience. Probably my favourite Metal album even if you want to call it metal
I remember hearing the first 2 tracks off this album back in December and I couldn't finish the album cuz of how great the first 2 tracks were and how I just kept on replaying them for a few months, production is unbelievable, lyrics are super catchy, this album has been on my rotation a lot for the last few months and just gets better on every listen, easily a top 5 CLK project
