I've heard tracks from this record many times over my life (the typical black experience), but I've never actually listened to this is in one sitting... and this is just excellent. This is such a standout record and showcases everything great about 80s pop and R&B.

to be honest maybe like 4 songs sound like them but its wayyy better. rest of the album was pretty nice.
Half of this album is great. The other half is filled with cringeworthy lyricism and showcases her millennial age most egregiously, bordering on outright embarrassment. STILL LOVE HER THOUGH !! This is just... not exactly what I expected. I almost wish the writing on TTPD was back; that was some of her least impressive lyrics she's produced. Some of these songs are her least impressive to date, many with lackluster production and songwriting she has ever written.

(Not acknowledging 'Up' nor 'WAP' due to the fact that they were clearly NOT made for this album and are there to inflate sales. It's clear that most of the material on this record was written and recorded over the last two years.(2023-2025))

Production-wise, modern K-pop producers refuse to lean into originality and continue to play into the common, overused cliches that have left 70% of the genre absolutely boring, draining, and lackluster for the last five years.
