This may be a genuine contender for my favourite album of all time. BODIES is everything I want from a modern alt metal record and more. The guitar tone is groovy dark and heavy. They use some Deftones style shoegaze, metalcore, nu metal, progressive metal, even a hint of RnB and djent, and it all just works. This album makes me feel things I've never previously felt - it is sinister, dirty, aggressive and disgusting. The artwork paints this album's vibe perfectly. It is very unique in the story it is telling. The vocals on here for a debut album are second to none - it really is a very impressive display of vocal range by Justin. There is some sludgy riffs in here too such as on We, The Sad. This is a really good nu-core record that has to be experienced at least once.
Quite let down by this to be honest. Corey's feature is nice, much prefer his verse to Chris'. The song feels very formulaic and the lyrics aren't great, the breakdown however is very good.
Not many misses here. Very feel good music - can get somewhat repetitive. A big fan of the minimalist low tuned guitar - very tasteful.
Death Atlas is a genuinely impressive record from a band I admittedly slept on for far too long. Just under an hour of organised chaos built around one of the most grim themes in modern death metal (humanity narrating its own destruction).
