Felt like a pastel wave washing over me for 50 minutes but not in a bad way
I feel like this album gets slighted for being accessible. But I think there’s a lot of things that make it more than just fun cool jazz. One of them being the incredible dynamics
Side 1 has some of his best songs ever. Even tho the second half feels a little monotonous (for his standards), it’s a great album
At a point during the second half I became fully aware of its magnitude. I moved my feet liberally while my spirit went from West Africa to Cuba then my home and outside all of them
