40 yr old Tantrum tunes

Swans - To Be Kind
100

There’s an intangible disdain about beauty when it refuses to comfort you. On to be kind, swans will drag you teeth first through punishment, stripping down even the most mentally fortified into some terrified, yet strangely alive amalgamation.

I wouldn’t say that fleeing the mind is some new rite of wonder. We’ve all done it and will continue to do it in whatever capacity. The other option is to exist as some numb fleshy lump sentenced to a life compressed by mundanity. ... read more

Marvin Gaye - What's Going On
NR

One does not have to follow Christianity or believe in a certain scripture to grasp and resonate with the concept of social commitment and spiritual reflection displayed within this album. I am an atheist myself, but I would say empathy and care are both core values in my life. They can never come in abundance.

One of the extremley rare cases in which an album has received a 10/10 off first listen for me. What a wonderful, pure and soothing creation from the main man Marvin. In a shared ... read more

Bjรถrk - Vespertine
100

Winter settles in amongst the landscape as i embark upon a re-listen of Vespertine this time. It’s early in June: the world shrinks inward, to magnificent seclusion in cozy, cramped quarters, as I stand in the snow with ice lining my nostrils and the streets afar. Winter recalls Björk’s reimagining of frigid musical atmospheres as-well as the intimate worlds in which listeners both prideful and loyal are cared for through a journey across her realms of love.

Tame Impala - Currents

Pretty great gateway drug into some more interesting music

Television - Marquee Moon
NR

So many all timers on this one. Served as a blueprint for turn on the bright lights aswell. Yes I refuse to elaborate.

Stevie Wonder - Innervisions
94

The 70s is just such a truly nuts decade for music as a whole. There were so many albums released that could be categorised under that 10/10 title. It truly was such an important time for musical innovation.

Vektor - Black Future
90

Absolutely killer riffs that will linger in your mind far beyond the first few listens! Super fast and technical and cool. Great, solid, enjoyable metal stuff right here that will entrance you into sci-fi worlds of darkness.

black midi - Hellfire
92

The absolute pinnacle of British engineering!

Pixies - Doolittle

In your face and proud to do so. extremely catchy and fun.
Has me in a great mood anytime I listen to it. Often unchained. Crazy and off the hook, well written and gorgeously produced. The list goes on. I don’t see a problem with any of that… do you?

Kendrick Lamar - GNX
60

I’ve listened to this album about 3 times already. I’m not impressed.

Maybe I need a few more listens to form a proper opinion…I’m not really sure. What I do know is that I’m very disappointed. I had my expectations WAY too high for the next Kendrick release. I was expecting something around GKMC level in the midst of the Drake beef but got this instead.

I really could live without 90% of the tracks on this album. They have no deep philosophical meaning that ... read more

Fishmans - LONG SEASON
NR

[untitled] is easily a top 5 song off of the album without a doubt

Destroyer - Kaputt
90

Like watching a sexy, arty black and white movie.

Macklemore - The Language of My World
10

The genre this album is listed under is conscious rap; easy to see why when there are such masterpieces on the project such as penis song.

Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
NR

Can really see the lil mosey influence

Nas - Illmatic
NR

From the beat selection, pen game, and flows that nas can get into I just can’t find a flaw with this album. Nas is at the top of his game here, paving the way for MCs after him and setting the stage for the future of hip hop as a whole.
