As a fellow Montrealer, I think I can speak on behalf of the city when I say that Mike Shabb is a local gem, putting Montreal on the map. After a few prolific years as a rapper and producer, Shabb sounds more confortable than ever over some of his best production, coming through with a project that allies versatility and quality. Well, that was quite a surprise ! Before seing him on the site, I had no idea who this guy was, but after seing all the positive reviews, I decided to check it out. It’s actually fantastic. Who is this man ? The versatility showcased by Owusu is mind-blowing. He goes from experimental hip-hop to funk to soul and it just works. What a debut album, I’ll definetely dig deeper in his catalog.
