Great storytelling, but in general maxo has a smooth voice. What hes lacking however are songs with great impressions. He has some here but there can be more.
Favs: Brenda, 8 Figures, Pray 2 the Dope, 3Am
Least fav: none really, but The Relays
This album offers nice variety for everyone, but thats it. The album is a showcase of every artist. Not much connection to the songs, and not a lot of cross-appeal between styles. A lot of Dreamville artists really show their best here, notably JID, Earthgang, Bas, and ofc J Cole. The features here deliver, and they arent people to sleep on. DaBaby, Maxo Cream, Vince Staples, Ski Mask the Slump God, Most moments here sound good or great, but some moments fall weak. Lambotruck has an unbearable ... read more

best: walk, bands, let it eat, piped up
Even if its pretty unoriginal, I find myself mildly entertained by this project when listening to it in whole.
Megan delivers the most with hard beats and flows. She really has an attitude that shows that she owns the place.

This album is why Kendrick Lamar is one of my favorite rappers right now. So much of this album is replayable, with tracks like Bitch Dont Kill My Vibe, Poetic Justice, Swimming Pools. It also has the absolute BANGER Maad City, which is enough to make this album more than a 60. This album is more than just a collection of songs, its a great storytelling album about presumably Kendricks childhood growing up, all the dirt, crime, violence in his life. You see the progression from his pride being ... read more
This mixtape has more quality than a lot of albums. Starting with one of Travis's best opening tracks, the straightforward rapping, the menacing piano beat, you know youre in for a ride. So much of this album is replayable, but then some of it isnt. A few tracks like Basement Freestyle reek of Owl Pharoah, which I am not a fan of. Other tracks kindof drag on, like Sloppy Toppy. But besides that, this album reaches the dark trap aesthetic Travis hasnt reached to an extent since. And Drugs You ... read more
DaBaby is an interesting figure. He has a fun trolling persona, and some of his features have been my favorite verses this year (Under The Sun) or the only good part of certain albums (... you know which one). His XXL Freestyle performance showed a lot of potential too.
It doesnt really show in his solo music though.
This album feels very one noted, and doesnt really offer much value. It has nice songs on it, and a few bangers. If you heard his songs on the radio, its not worth hearing the ... read more
Yeah, I find myself enjoying this album the more I listen to it. The production is great here, the beats are all fun to listen to. Carti is not a lyrical rapper at all, but he brings fun energy to most tracks. The cartoony adlibs, the baby voice delivery on Flatbed Freestyle, Playboi Carti knows what he is doing. The features make up a lot of highlights, but not in a bad way. Theyre substance to stick to on some tracks. But its not like he cant hold on his own. He does that easily on Shoota, ... read more
Production is still pi'erres strong suit, but pi'erre is not a bad rapper. Problem is that hes a boring one. Very boring. A lot of the songs blend together easily. It makes good background music though.
This album gets too much hate, its not bad. But it is all over the place, and has major flaws. The mixing is trash on some parts, but this is kindof a precursor to soundcloud trap metal songs. I dont know. Find Your Wings transitioning to Cherry Bomb is enough to sum up this album.
