What a sweet song. The charts have been rubbish this year but this is proof the public occasionally retain their sense of taste.
People can point to the trashy club anthem makers like LMFAO or the Black Eyed Peas as the low point of mainstream dance music. They could also point to the mid 2010s tropical house of Kygo or *shudders* Clean Bandit, which has become very dated very fast as well. But my vote is the stuff we have now, which is... this. I've softened on this song. The screaming is still an instant ejector seat moment but you can make out the scraps of a thoughtful lyricist in the verses.
Best song called Making Love To Morgan Wallen that I've ever heard.
This is really mawkish and sappy sounding. The repetition of "yellow bike" in the chorus gets on my nerves.
Stop releasing good music Fred. I'm trying really hard to not enjoy your music

"I dunno, I think Lovejoy have had more than enough time to find their niche, so to speak. They've already put out three widely publicised EPs and they're getting double the attention and resources a regular indie rock band would get at this stage in their career thanks in no small part to the existing popularity of their lead singer. If they're still spinning their wheels in the mud right now I don't have high hopes for their future release quality."
