Vampire Weekend - Only God Was Above Us

Quintessential millenial life soundrack and I'm eating it up. This is my favorite vw album, love it.

Dua Lipa - Radical Optimism
50

mid album=mid review. I can appreciate the moments where I can hear kevin's production shine through, but other than that there's no substance here. so sad because i love dua!! i think shes a super cool person, shes beautiful, and future nostalgia is a fantastic album. hoping she goes up from here!

Taylor Swift - THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT
15

Terrible bland production, taylor trying so hard to convince everone that she's an intellectual genius lyricist, followed by the worst lyrics she's come up with yet, and i can't get over the fact that this is a 30 song breakup cry fest about matty healy (my king), who she dated on tour for 3 weeks. like i get it girl id go crazy for him too but that doesn't give you the excuse to act like ur god's gift to artistry. u make good pop music, stop trying to be in the ... read more

Daft Punk - Random Access Memories

a fantastic album that gave me a really special moment with my dad :) he loves paul williams and was so excited when i bought him this vinyl. thanks daft punk- for the music and the moment:)

Charli xcx - Brat and it's the same but there's three more songs so it's not
95

It's all ive been able to listen to since it came out. I personally don't listen to the slower songs often, but that doesn't dismiss their merit at all. Charlis just got me too brainwashed to listen to anything that isnt bumpin that

Magdalena Bay - Mercurial World
77

Aside from a few tracks I didn't looove, there are some stand outs on this album that are absolutely phenomenal. Chaeri and Mercurial World are such winners for me.

Tyler, The Creator - IGOR
83

its pretty fuckin good

twenty one pilots - Clancy
79

my goats rediscover synth

Cage the Elephant - Tell Me I'm Pretty
70

while i think as a project this is less impressive than melophobia, that might have to do with the vibe of the albums rather than the content. how are you true is still my favorite cage song

Cage the Elephant - Melophobia
76

a staple of alt rock and has a couple tracks that hold up super well even 11 years later. cigarette daydreams is the soundtrack of that entire scene. i still throw this on every once in a while

79

the impact this is still having on the music industry is phenomenal. house of ballons/gtg and wicked games are two of my favorite tracks of all time. insane stuff.

The Weeknd - After Hours
90

ive got to get over my slight cringe that the weeknd might be the top artist of the year bc how are ppl gonna know i have rly good diverse niche music taste if my top artist is the most popular artist in the world? but fuck it if this album isnt one of the most iconic of all time for good reason. the production, his delivery, the track diversity. too late is like crazy trap house beat, hardest to love is dnb, and the experience of listening to faith and blinding lights back to back is a life ... read more

Billie Eilish - HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
80

this production is fucking incredible. finneas and billie are some of the most talented people in the industry and they get so much better every album. this is awesome

Panic! at the Disco - Pretty. Odd.
90

God I'm such a sucker for Ryan Ross.

Troye Sivan - Blue Neighbourhood
80

This is pop perfection. I listened to this album the day it came out and I still love it to this day. Troye was so young here and had just come off of his youtube career, and he managed to make a defining album for queer teens that still holds weight today. There are some really good tracks on this album, but EASE, HEAVEN, and THE QUIET are my favorites. I also think this is Jack Antinoff's best production work of all time, and you can quote me on that.

Hippo Campus - Bambi
75

I like this album a lot, just not as much as I like Landmark. I do appreciate the switch up in sound on this project, and songs like Think it Over, Bubbles, and Why Even Try are some huge standouts in my favorite songs ever.

Vampire Weekend - Father of the Bride
68

I love this album a lot, I think the instumentation is so interesting and beautifully complex. This album struggles a little bit with the track ordering and flow, but the songs themselves are all well done. Harmony Hall is probably one of my favorite singles from 2019.

Hippo Campus - Landmark

This album should blend in with all the other indie rock projects from the late 2010s, but I find myself coming back to this one more than any other. The flow of this album and the theming feel well thought out and are executed extremely well. The instrumentation is clean and super catchy, and the pretentious lyrics somehow fit so well that they seem endearing. I saw them live in Nashville in 2019 and it was one of the greatest shows I've ever seen.

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
100

what can you even say dude it's that good

The Brobecks - Violent Things
90

One of the best pop rock albums from the 2000s, with one of the best songs of all time. Boring is a top 20 song ever made, I swear to god.
