When looking at singles for this mixtape I got very excited by his raw talent and his feature list. But I will admit while listening to the album I was a bit disappoint. That being said there definitely were some bangers on this album. And I don’t give a flying fuck what anyone says, Bid Dawgs is a banger.
This great album by Joey Bada$$ tells the story of racism in America. With standout tracks like Temptation, Rockabye Baby, Ring the Alarm, and Devastated this may very well be Joey’s best.
While empty of a concept this album is still pretty good and an important moment in Tyler’s discography where his production improves.
Flower Boy is a great album by Tyler, the Creator and deals with issues such as his mental, social, and romantic struggles (particularly with Jaden Smith but also possibly others).
Amazing masterpiece by Tyler over here. This album tells the story of Tyler’s persona, Igor who falls in love with a man only for their relationship to reach ups and downs due to Tyler’s interchanging feelings, and the man’s relationship with his girlfriend. This album can be played in a loop as the end and first tracks start with similar static sounds and Tyler’s affection remains the same from the first and last track, creating an interesting paradox. I’m sorry but this is just as good as Atavista. 3.15.20 is one of my favorite albums by Childish Gambino and is one that definitely stands out with a unique style, though I can’t quite describe it.
What a deep album. I’m blown away. So many bangers. I’m just speechless. Kendrick talks about his insecurities and past traumas in this album, dealing with it by finally going to threrapy.
At first I was in love with this album but I gotta say it’s started to wear off of me. That being said I do enjoy most songs on this project. It’s a great victory lap album
I gotta say this is a pretty solid album. No ID doesn’t disappoint with this unique style of production for this project and Saba’s lyricism and flow fits perfectly.
Despite being almost completely instrumental, this project may have some of Kaytranada’s best production. While it could use some more features it’s a spectacular project. Some highlights are:
Do it! (Again!)
Home
Don’t worry babe / I gotchu babe
Goodbye bitch!
This is how you make a comeback, people! While Starline definitely doesn’t amount to his mixtapes like Acid Rap or Coloring Book it’s still a great album, especially in contrast to The Big Day. Highlights were:
The Highs and the Lows
No More Old Men
Letters
The Speed of Light
The ***** Problem
Gun In Yo Purse
Back To the Go
I gotta say this song slaps so hard. While I wasn’t a huge fan of ABK this song makes me SO excited for the new album
Spectacular album by Clipse. Everything was practically perfect here. The features, the production, the rapping, the lyrics, EVERYTHING. I really hope they make more music and don't dissapear in the future (and looking at how they're already appearing on other albums like GDLU by JID I'm hopeful they will). Perfect album
