Enough beats for a whole album and he used them all to shoot shots at drake’s dead corpse.
Too scared to listen to the new album so I listened to an old one. Very unique style, I can see how this developed into his later songs, and it also makes sense how they call Tame Impala the one man band. Pretty good, and that’s high praise guessing as I usually don’t deviate from rap (unless it’s my queen kali Uchis)
Not too shabby, loved the production, very unique for Vince, felt like the start of his modern era (RPBMH, Dark Times)
This album is a beautiful funky masterpiece. Honestly this might top BTI idk. Best $25 of my life buying this vinyl. It’s times like these where I wish Bino would come back.
yall callin this a cash grab and I honestly don’t understand why. when jid did this with the forever story and gdlu nobody batted an eye. but the second tyler does it he’s fucking elon musk.
Now onto the actual song, mother. I’ve heard leaked versions of this before but without the little intro at the beginning, which I really liked. Production was pretty solid for tyler, but the lyricism was actually very interesting. Super rare to get an insight into Tyler’s childhood. ... read more
If you told me that this was the same guy who made Swimming I wouldn’t believe you. This album (for the most part) is extremely energetic and filled to the brim with bangers. A true masterpiece that gets the adrenaline flowing —but brings you down with a couple of chill songs so you don’t get a fucking nosebleed.
I’ll start with the good things: this single has some great production, you can tell it takes inspiration from that early 2010s Odd Future synth heavy production. And the lyricism is ok, nothing outstanding but not horrible. However his voice is too deep here. I think he has a great future as a producer, but not as a rapper.
Got this one for my birthday cause it was the only hip-hop record in my friend’s dad’s vinyl collection. And this was pretty good. I’ve never really listened to Quasimoto or Madlib before but this was really great and unique. The way that Madlib changes his voice creates a very distinct flow, while the production was great
Honestly this album was better than I expected. I love how well Swim's rapping blends with Jadagrace's singing, but what really stands out is the storyline that this album takes of two friends who get into fight against each other only to realize that they're stronger together. While there were some misses this was a pretty solid album
Edit: 77 -> 83
Yeah this one definitely grew on me, especially now that I’m listening to more Rocky
I've never really listened to A$AP before, but this was actually pretty good. Some highlights were Electric Body, Wavybone, Everyday, and Fine Whine. Also shout out to A$AP for putting a homeless man on his album like 20 times.
Ok JID cooked here but what the fuck is with Imagine Dragons absolutely ruining this song. ts was not tuff
This song is not that good, and the beat definitely wasn’t met to be rapped over. Also the ending is corny as fuck. Still love Doechii though. Side note:
AOTY should just remove 0s at this point. Like ok sure it’s not the best, and it’s very overplayed but the 0 spamming is insane. I personally think some people just hate to see a female rapper this successful. This is just a pile on scenario, where it’s just become cool now to 0 spam this song. Yes there are better ... read more
First Baby Keem LP, this guy either hits or misses. Like I swear the songs are either bangers or ass. Very unique production too, usually the highlights, which definitely aren’t the lyricism. I think the bangers have outweighed the misses on this album though. Pretty good; now time to review melodic blue.
Great album here by Chance, definetely did not dissapoint. He takes on a diverse form of soul-sampled production, debuted on this album, but also reappearing on Star Line, while still keeping his upbeat follow shown in former projects
Day #32 of Listening to The Highest Rated Album From Every Genre
Today's Genre: Pop Rap
Mwah. Chef's kiss. I remember Self Care was the first Mac Miller song I listened to and I went to myself "holy shit, I gotta go check out this album this man's the Gordon Ramsay of white rappers." And the album did not dissapoint. Rest in peace Mac Miller, I gotta rethink how much GoldLink I listen to
I absolutely do not understand the hate on this album. Aminé's rapping is great, ok maybe he's not THE BEST at lyricism but who cares. And I mean the production is Kaytranada (with a touch of Pharell), so that almost never dissapoints. And the features here are great too, Freddie Gibbs, Amaarae, and Pharell Williams. Now I will say, the end songs are kinda bad but it's fine who cares. Listen to the good ones people.

BTI is so underrated. I wouldn’t have time to explain the whole plot of this album but holy shit there is so much to unpack. I suggest listening to season of Dissect on this. And besides lyricism the production and rapping/singing is not only good but also extremely diverse in style.
