The second Korn album which imo is a really really mixed bag, it has some of their most angry songs, but also some of their most immature songs. ADIDAS chorus has no right to be so catchy.

Seems like a lot of people on this site got filtered by this one. So fucking good.
Best post-punk revival / indie rock album of the mid 2000s. Akin to Interpol, bit of Blur and Joy Division and some Pixies for good measure. Shits all over anything by Arctic Monkeys.
Highlight(s): Like Eating Glass, Helicopter, Positive Tension, Banquet, Blue Light, This Modern Love, So Here We Are.
While I'm more of a fan of Blackheim's side project Diabolic Masquerade, this album from Katatonia is an absolute masterpiece of 1990s death-doom and gothic metal. The clean vocals are gorgeous, the production is great, everything is coated in the perfect amount of reverb, making the album very atmospheric. The riffing and guitar work is fantastic and catchy, the outro of "12" and the main riff of "Brave" stuck in my head the first time I listened to this. The more straight ... read more
Could have done without the porn samples and cheeks being clapped on the interlude "Master's Pleasure"...
Melodic black metal ala Cradle of Filth with a bit more grit to the production.
Highlight(s): Erection-Delightful Rape of the Stellar Virginity (Dripping the Primordial Erotic Sperm Flow), Nuit-Lustful Receptacle of Erected Power, Urdhva Kundali
If you can't embrace the cheese, you will not get lost in the cheese.
Highlight(s): Poison Girl, Join Me In Death, Right Here in my Arms, Gone With The Sin, Bury me deep inside your heart
Really dissonant, brooding and dread inducing atmosphere. You can tell this album was written after the heartbreak of Jef Whitehead's late-girlfriend dying.
Mid tempo atmospheric black metal affair, some really somber and atmospheric moments here and there and occasional meaty riffs. Really good. Wish it wasn't such a rare album.
That ugly riff at the end of Kathaarian Life Code is so morbid, grim and otherworldly sounding. Love love love this album.
I think it's unfair that critics panned this album as being uninspired. Sure from a production standpoint the album isn't exactly invigorating in the same way as A Blaze in the Northern Sky, Under A Funeral Moon and Transilvanian Hunger are, and part of that is due to the really dull sounding guitar tones, but the riffs and songwriting is actually very solid on this album. Had this album had a more inspired production and fleshed out sound with punchier drums and nastier guitar tones, this ... read more
