update: man idfk anymore after what drake just dropped but its good musicially at least
reupdate: Okay so just taking the baby girl verse out of the equation, its still one of the best preformed disses of all time, and genuinely makes you uncomfortable so yes its still great.
100 followers ay, figured id talk about a single from an artist that means a lot to me. This was joey's debut single and its arguably his best song. Fun fact j. cole used the same sample as this song on his song "false phrophets" but anyways. Waves's beat is a super chill laid back but very good beat, but what puts it together is the sample. Joey is meditative and strong lyricially creating a super engaging yet relaxing song at the same time. Lyricially it shows everything that makes ... read more

edit: so like i actually just dont know what to talk about cause ive never heard music like this before. Songs like wendigo work. Other songs get lost in the distortion and just felt nothing. So i guess a high highs and low lows type beat, but like i really dont feel qualified to speak on this besides how much i enjoyed it, but it was alright
Wow.
basicially everything I felt wasnt cooked on Pablo is fixed here
vocals are noticeably better, and lyricism was much more meaningful
Instrumentals gained their own identity, and felt a lot less of their time and more like "this is radiohead" everything just works so well here.
They really didnt feel like they were trying to be anything, they just let their intuition guide them here and it worked so amazing.
96-> 88 i overrated it a little, i think because of just how much it ... read more
it isnt terrible production wise but lacking in identity for me, and eminems passionate enough to make up for that, but what really kills it is the chorus's they are so so so bad. Like unbearabley corny or just dumb. the lyricism is good but feels a little meaningless in a few songs but with impressive rhyme schemes ill give it that.
Not afraid really encompasses this whole album where like its not offensively bad, but holy it reaks of corn and not in a quirky way. He comes across like hes ... read more
The first time ive thought corny lyrics helped an album? This album really potrays eminem as a crazy like off the edge killer, and like i swear you can feel his insanity. The insanity leak into the way the hooks and verses are structured and his accents of course its really cool.
I really think the accents do a lot to build the character.
I do think their are a few missteps in the tracklist/a bit bloated but its still good
sidenote but "Insane" is the craziest opening to a song ever ... read more
man how does future nostalgia exist between these two
Duas personality here is "im that bad mfer" but its like a kidz bop kid saying that. The production is terrible so her self empowering aura and lyricism comes across really childish instead of strong. Dua is strong vocally and has good presence but the palate of this project is to boring to make full use of it
We back after a pretty chaotic friday, nem nem episode 5:
Encore is a weird asf album. Even on the good songs he picks some reallllly weird flows.
The album has pretty great heights with mockingbird, and like toy soldiers. Just lose it is also really funny I got a soft spot for that one.
But man some of the choices and subjects em chooses to rap about on here just left me...confused to say the least?
Em's cadence choices do not work it feels like hes drowning in his self awareness instead of ... read more
Let down:(
Not nearly as impressive as future nostalgia but its still got some bops. The sound of this album is good, but I think it kinda lost the wonder of Dua as a personality. I dont think anyone else could have made future nostalgia better, I could see this same album being made by other pop stars with similar results
That being said duas singing is good, and the production is immersive, a few catchy songs and houdini is great so I cant says its trash
updated 60->56 MID, also i spoke ... read more
No song structure at all. At least he used some okayish flows and the writing wasnt offensive(from what i remember)but this did nothing for me
Wanted to listen to this before her album tonight. Amazing, so passionate, colorful, and vibrant. Dua's so expressive vocally and lyricially and really comes off as a charming personality. loved the production and disco ideas. Duas made some of the best pop hits in a while with this album and ill alwahs appreciate her for that. Amazing body of work.

Eminems personality is so great and hes so self aware I love it, his rhyme schemes stepped up from slim shady. This project gas some of eminem greatest songs of all time like Dr*g Ballad and stan. Thankfully eminem cut down on the skits for the most part on this one( Ken kaniff is awful ), and for an hour 12 i was fully entertained. I felt a more genuine sense of urgency and meaning in his emotions. Dre's production is even more refined here. Sadly under the influence is so much worse than the ... read more
Really bad case of not having enough scathing lines to finish a diss. He uses the hook as a crutch to pat time instead of using it to make the track memorable, it works on Ether for example because Ether had real points you couldn't ignore so the chorus acted to make its a good songs also , MGK still needed the time he wasted on the hook to build ideas more than he did. Basically every line is shrug-off-able, especially when mgk gives backhanded compliments throughout the track. whats a shame ... read more
Never has a diss made someone feel this uncredible and disected them so well.
Relating his father to why he was a deadbeat was genius, pushas wordplay is immaculate
Oh yeah it also doesn't hurt that pusha's got the most menacing rap voice ever
Quite possibly the meanest thing in the history of hiphop
84->90
Nevermind he cooked I didnt give credit for how crazy this song evolved, and the timing he made each strike tap in was so cool. in terms of cadence/preformance legitimately 10/10
holy cook
I do think it could have a stronger thesis, because as great is it is it didnt make me view Drake in a different light at all. Im obviously not asking for adidon cause thats not gonna happen again. But i think for example ether, makes you see Jay as less of a product of his own talent, and more of a ... read more
