The Weeknd - My Dear Melancholy,
65

i really dont know what to make of this one. Nothing feels wrong about it but idk i just am not in love with it. Its got abels singing so it cant be bad but its clearly not a full project(i get its an ep but its still 25 minutes), and doesn't really work for the short listens thing i've loved that like ye, ksg, daytona, and some rap songs do nearly as well.

Trippie Redd - genre : sadboy

Kiki, do you love me? Are you riding?
Say you'll never ever leave from beside me
'Cause I want ya, and I need ya
And I'm down for you always

Kodak Black - Non Believer

Musicially i dont love it, his flow and preformance especially in the first half aint really working for me. Tho honestly super good topical focus, solid lyricism, on an interesting topic. I kinda love the ideas this song had, although it wasn't executed the best.

IDK - DENiM

vibe, joey killed it, loved what idk did, productions not crazy but its good

Sheck Wes - Mo Bamba

Lets be reallll, this is a legendary aux song.

Trippie Redd - A Love Letter To You 3
70

Trippies pretty catchy and head noddy, and i think there are more vibes than misses. Not too adventurous and it knows whats its tryna be. I like trippies screams but i can see those being offputting to some. Its a pretty vibey album but not much too unpack.
best song: Topanga
worst song: A.L.L.T.Y 3

Pusha T - DAYTONA

Great albums pusha t is so expressive and cold. I loved every song on here so much except if you know you know which while isnt bad doesnt captivate me nearly as much especially its hook i find just ok. So many sparks of genius on this album, amazing features, and kanyes production is impeccible. I could rant about how much I like santeria for so long. Theres so much great about this album and i love the 7 track format doesn't overstay its welcome at all. Amazing work from one of the greats.

Tyler, The Creator - Wolf

Tyler discog dive 3:Best of the trilogy, and with the least filler for sure. I think if anything it could have leaned more into the concept. I think the features were way more consistent here than his past projects, and although i dont think it has as high peaks as goblin but its so much more consistant. Very much enjoyed this although I dont like album being this long, tyler executed it pretty well. Worth a listen

Tyler, The Creator - Goblin

Tyler Discog Dive: After bastard I didnt know what to think going into this cause ive heard its a lower point in his discog but i was happily impressed. I think the first 4 tracks set a mark that the rest of the album doesnt consistently meet and their are a few lowlights but i was still suprised how low this is rated, it has a really strong concept and is way more self aware than bastard imo which really helps the horrocore elements. Production is cool and i like the beats for the most part. I ... read more

Tyler Discog Dive Part 1: ight so theres some genuinely terrible songs and moments on this project, like tina is almost unlistenable and a few others arent good. Features are hit or miss. But there is a lot of greatness aswell. The lyrics are INSANE like bro chill but thats the magic of it. Production is pretty cool and tyler performance's are pretty emphatic with cool vocal toning in spots. It's cool to see him in this young space, and while he clearly had a lot to improve on this is still a ... read more

Frank Ocean - channel ORANGE

Love everything about this album. Franks got amazing singing as always. Top tier features, Earls really is amazing and the andre one is odd but AMAZING. Pink matter is probably one of my favorite songs of all time.
Franks an underrated writer, I really vibe with the writing here. Pyramids is a masterpiece of a long song

Not much to complain love this album

Quadeca - SCRAPYARD

music nerd core.

damn i loved this so much more than I thought i would
vocals are super cool and real, preformances are always great. Loved the production its so Small yet expressive and fits the tones its going for every time.
The 2 features one here work so well with their songs. Its definately still a mixtape but the songs still work together pretty will.
Quad DID

Still really good but its a lil less stunning to me having heard a bit more in this lane

Tyla - TYLA
40

Dull i mean i guess its fine in the background but besides a few highlights like water i thought this was super uninspired, and i felt like i had already heard this album before at multiple points in throughout this. Tylas a good singer, and i see real possibilities for her too grow so i will check on her next projects also even though i didnt like this. ( Also that travis remix was real chill i liked that)

Future - WE DON'T TRUST YOU
80

Kinda just a trap banger album, everythings hits. Future didnt try to push something new he just proved he was still that guy. Amazing features(ok kendrick??). I didnt rate it higher cause its still future quality lyrics but i loved every monent of this album besides magic don. Very happy what metro and fut pulled together

Best tracks: claustrophobia, everyday hustle, wtfym, cinderella

worst: magic don

Olivia Rodrigo - GUTS (spilled)

deluxe songs only
i loved 3/5 songs disliked the one about her guitar(too long for a bad song concept) and was eh on the other
its worth a listen though and obsessed is really great.

Big Sean - Precision

Blu & Exile - Below the Heavens

Good first impression for blu. Great beats throughout the album and Blu is a super capable rapper. A few mediocre hooks and slightly more pop based tracks i liked a bit less. But overall a consistant and great tracklist where blu went off on great exile beats he meshed with, worth a listen for sure.

Deftones - Diamond Eyes
85

Loved most of this, thought instrumentals were very strong. As my first deftones project it captivated me enough to listen to more. A few songs felt i guess unescessary but theyre not misses either. I liked the vocal style a lot that defined this album. Would recommend this album

Ka - Honor Killed the Samurai
100

Ka's monotone delivery with the drumless instrumentals really creates an environment. Every song transition is smooth asf. I think ka has a good pen and really created a perfect environment around it. Ka sounds cold and calculated yet you can tell what hes feeling. I had loved everything so much and then the end hit me with the punch that is the I wish (death poem) I can not think of a complaint this is as of now an 100

Silk Sonic - An Evening With Silk Sonic
70

I just had so much fun listening to this, I forget just how good bruno makes me feel, Paak is great like he always is and I think the production was a really tasteful callback to older sounds. Not had an album make me smile like this in a minute

Yeah pennyroyals def high school shit, the songs less about the breakup itself and more about how joey struggles to process it because he doesnt really understand what she meant to him, again high school shit, but i think theirs a power to that youthful energy when it forced to be humbled, i guess i see it relatable in like a high schoolish way"

"@B307 ty! been meaning to check out liquid sqords, so yeah ill prolly review that soon! I generally think steez and joey always had a lot more emotional presence and their passion shined through in ways I dont see in some other boombap rappers. 1999 addresses from multiple directions of joeys mindset. I feel like you can really here joeys passion on hardknock, his denial of his heartbreak in pennyroyal is so relatable, his drive on survival tactics rivals people like nas. And i think thats griselda literally biggest problem, westside gunn is so immensly talented, but I feel like he always raps in the same exact way, I know who westside gunn is as a rapper, but I dont feel that inner motivation that makes him tick as a person."
