Gorillaz - On Melancholy Hill

I had the same experience to this song as digital love, where i was wowed but like I felt like i should have had already heard it
Both of those songs use pretty dimple elements and implement them perfectly to create this lil bubble of emotion

The Offspring - Americana
65

Ok i get it, its bad, its not aged the best, some of the songs lack in quality
But BROOOOO ITS SO FUN I LOVE THIS THING
i just have a grin whenever i hear this album idk man its dumb fun but something works here

Kenny Mason - 9
65

I feel like he sounds like other rappers a lot on this album which isnt necessarily a problem but kenny isnt the most personality driven mc so its kinda hurts. The first track sounds like a jid track and i think it does work pretty well.
Overall this album felt like it was missing some final sauce but I see a lot of potential in the sounds he went over here, and kennys really talented

Ski Mask the Slump God - Shibuya
69

Works pretty well with his voice i think. very excited to see where ski goes from here. At the same time I think he coulda gone wayyyyy harder

Tame Impala - Currents
85

Really great album, this production was top tier asf and while the vocals didnt always hit for me they usually did. I could see myself coming back to this in a few weeks and giving it an even higher score

Olivia Rodrigo - bad idea right?
70

this one is so funny lmfaoo

Ariana Grande - eternal sunshine
50

Did not like it much at all up until the interlude after that i felt it was consistantly pretty good, not anything that shocked, but good vocals and overall songs. I think its a cool project with a couple great moments but i cant see myself going back to it as a full project that often. think the title track was probably my favorite song
60->50
This grew off me its so bland, no stand out tracks and production is pretty uninteresting, dont really even care for the song I did like its just ... read more

Jack Harlow - Jackman.
50

Jack just isnt a good enough of a writer to support these barebones of instrumentals, I think one of the songs that actually did work was denver I liked that quite a bit. Jacks flow is just passable enough for casual listening but if this was any longer it would be boring which is a bad sign for an album under 30 minute, and theres not much too dig up in serious listening. Though to he honest, props to jack i think he showed enough potential and humbleness that he could make a great album in ... read more

Lil Wayne - Tha Carter II
90

Waynes best studio album. No misses and i think waynes delivery is near perfect he sound so cool delivering every line. This is probably my most replayed album of all time. Its not cohesive enough and i dont think mo fire/shooter are great enough to rate it higher but i think this album is so cool and i think waynes writing really was memorable here. Best rapper alive / hustler musikk are I think in contention for waynes best song of all time

Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz - Welcome 2 Collegrove
60

Surprisingly pretty good, lots of just fun club type bangers. A few moments that just feel forced or dont fully work but Wayne is rapping really wall and 2chainz doesnt slack. If it was organized better to be a bit more cohesive with the 50 cent skits itd be like a 75. Highlights are big diamonds / long story short / oprah & gayle

Eagles - Hotel California
50

The title track is beyond just a classic but the rest is just not something i care about good dad music fr tho

Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday 2
35

damn i wanted it to be good so bad, just not much to like love here, a few dope moments but maaaaaaaaan:(

Taylor Swift - 1989 (Taylor's Version)
50

Really catchy
not much else, mid singing and some actually terrible hooks. Bad blood without kendrick is honestly unlistenable and kendrick version isnt much better
Im giving it points cause it super memorable and i liked 4 or 5 tracks a good amount, but taylors writing isnt good enough to save the repitive asf hooks/choruses and mediocre at best singing preformances

21 Savage - american dream
50

good enough but i think he coulda done better

DMX - It's Dark and Hell Is Hot
85

Dmxs mic presence is insane i think the first few tracks are insane and it cools off a little for a moment but i don't think theres a bad track, good album but homophobic bars hurt it a lot and its not aged the best

Kid Cudi - Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven
30

Yknow as much as its kinda sucks musicially and i dont enjoy it I think its kinda simulates mental health struggles in a cool way (like people say its repetitive, i think thats a strength of the album as it kinda shows how you're repeatedly trying to be better and you end up in the same spot)and i think if i was struggling i could relate to elements of this

The beevus and buthead skits are unforgiveable though…

Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
100

Stunning album i cant even begin to describe. Its so creative and its in its own world. Really recognizable and unique production mixed with a really odd vocals that work.
I felt like i was in a new dimension listening its an album that really makes me wonder what parts of experimental hiphop still havent been found its so crazy.
(Side note i did not like this album originially its really something that grows on you)

"@B307 ithink i see what you mean, mix isnt something that you really affect my personal listening experience unless its genuinely trash like on jik but i can hear what youre saying on here. Yeah pennyroyals def high school shit, the songs less about the breakup itself and more about how joey struggles to process it because he doesnt really understand what she meant to him, again high school shit, but i think theirs a power to that youthful energy when it forced to be humbled, i guess i see it relatable in like a high schoolish way"

"@B307 ty! been meaning to check out liquid sqords, so yeah ill prolly review that soon! I generally think steez and joey always had a lot more emotional presence and their passion shined through in ways I dont see in some other boombap rappers. 1999 addresses from multiple directions of joeys mindset. I feel like you can really here joeys passion on hardknock, his denial of his heartbreak in pennyroyal is so relatable, his drive on survival tactics rivals people like nas. And i think thats griselda literally biggest problem, westside gunn is so immensly talented, but I feel like he always raps in the same exact way, I know who westside gunn is as a rapper, but I dont feel that inner motivation that makes him tick as a person."
