i got turned onto lil peep at a point in my life where i was not a soundcloud rap fan, and i was lowkey a hater, but coming back a few years later, there really was something so so special about him.
The more i let the eminem show sit with me the more I appreciate it, while it may not be as impressive or compelling to me as SSLP or MMLP to me, it makes up for that for me in a few ways.
1. Eminem is literally the only person who could make an album like this, mmlp is unique but it functions in a realm that others have played with. The Eminem Show is so closely intertwined with the unique plight of Eminems celebrity, and thats such a compellingly unique story.
2. Eminem stood out because he ... read more
Its funny cause mac miller continues to suprise me adter his death, cause i wasnt huge on swimming, but circles came out and it not only was amazing but it changed my view of swimming. Im not that well versed, but besides a few singles im not really the hugest fan of mac miller before the devine feminine, but uh fuk i love this, i really hope this album unlocks faces and good am for me.

I feel like in terms of mainstream trap that still really interesting and great, without warnings up their with the ds2's and jefferys ; trap music that I think everyone can love.
Like man that opening run of 3 songs can we talk about that??? Ghostface killers is one of the most menacing songs ever, everyone plays their role perfectly, rap saved me has one of my favorite savage preformances, and primeeee quavo. And ric flair drip ahh DUDDDEEE ETERNAL BANGER THAT BEAT DUDE METROOOOO
"I got a list, here's the order of my list that it's in
It goes: Reggie, JAY-Z, 2Pac and Biggie
André from OutKast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas, and then me
But in this industry I'm the cause of a lot of envy
So when I'm not put on this list, the shit does not offend me"
Where did that go? Fuck man this is a classic and it only makes his new music so much more unbearable. How are you gonnna go back on the word of your hardest verse ever, I dont care if youre ... read more
Its funny that on linkin parks worst album thats aged like genuine milk, they made a song I think that genuinely sounds timeless, I dont even think their 2000s music sounds timeless, its more of a bubble of its time(in a good way), but linkin park never eclipsed the time of their music. One more light is different, its just so real, apathy is an enemy to humans and this song kills me every time i hear it
Gucci and Waka Flocka aren't as criticially acclaimed, but they both deserve a lot of credit, because they both essentially merged trap from the 2000s style trap of ti and jeezy, they pioneered the road for artist like chief keef.
And specificially at the head of wakas influence was his 2010 project flockaveli.
first off can we talk about how crazy it is there in a year like 2010 were MY BEAUTIFUL DARK TWISTED FANTASY dropped, that rap music never went towards the glam rap of that album ... read more
ima wait until my second listen give this a rating but heres some thoughts ive had on boldy for a minute now
i like boldy but ive never really loved him. Comparing him to like a ka, his lyrics have never really hit that deep to me, which is SO Important in this style of monotone lowkey rap cause its all in that meditative thought.
He always collabs with producers for his projects, and while i guess that helps make them "cohesive" i could really care less, it makes his projects often ... read more
This kinda flew under the radar, but um I think its pretty solid!
its start off really strong , with a really close and lowkey emotional intro, and continues it a solid run with told ya and good life.
I really hate the mixing on long way from the block, but immediately after we get a genuinely REALLY exciting tracks with "why" and a nle choppa feature that sounds great.
The last 3 tracks cool off a little, but besides the rich the kid feature they sound good.
Tjay isnt fully ... read more
that dmx pocket he did is so good genuinely, thats such a hard fry to replicate and he did it so well
B4.DA.$$, not my favorite joey album, but i will this priject has a really unique energy, the cadances and vocal choices he makes on this project have so much grit to them, its such an engaging project.
Travis Scott does have a talent as a hitmaker and curator, but he has basicially NEVER been an artist that brought deep emotions out of me, that is except for Drugs You Should Try It.
This is by far travis's best song im sorry, like that chorus and that outro actually fuck me up. It feels like its got such deep purpose.
This project has its issues in production, but id be lieing if i didnt say the rapping on here is some of the greatest of all time. The pockets wayne raps in are genuinely so inventive i cant even comprehend how he found them, and thats what makes this project, he always just makes a way to make you go "wow".
yall ever think about how chief keef made 50 cent sound interesting for first and the only time since 2003
This is probably my 3rd favorite x song?
Im not compleyely sold on x, i think he was an interesting figure but he hadnt fully developed when he was blowing up, but he struck gold a few times, most obviously in my opinion with his 2 best songs infinity (888) and riot. Those 2 are probably x's best real rapping preformances. Moonlight isn't like that, moonlight is this encapsulation of an emotion , in a really interesting way, and the angst feels real ig? its got some magic that makes ... read more
I feel like a lot of the really iconic storytelling tracks like "stan" or like idk "dance with the devil" take a really serious topic and drill into it, and thats amazing
But something about "kick, push" and its just sense of freeness and wonder, it really represents skating so purely. Lupe ability to storytell visually is literally unmatched i can picture this whole story in a movie perfectly.
When i first really got into music this was one of two anthems that really made me fall in love with music on a deep level.
Can you guess what the other one was?
Runaway. Something about both of those songs use of those bare singular piano keys as like a dog whistle to the emos and the assholes, its the most powerful shit ever to me, and both of these songs still hold the most special place in my heart possible
Welcome to the black parade deserves all the love it gets this is what it means to ... read more
I never really got most of the emo rap wave and a lot of the early sound cloud wave in general like that... And i still always thought uzi was one of the greatest rappers of all time.
Genuinely I think luv is rage 2 is a really really special project. Uzis ability to apply emotions into his hooks so so effectively is always what I thought made him stand out, and thats just on display this WHOLE project.
Like Dark Queen??? one of the best songs ever made, and then we also go CLASSICS like xo ... read more
