One of my favourite female vocals on an album, and some of the most joyous unique songwriting I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to. Oh and she plays the harp????? Special music that should be protected at all costs.

Is this a masterpiece or a strange harp lady who squeaks poetry at you for an hour behind a chorus of strings? You bet its a fucking masterpiece you uncultured swine. I get chills every time, tears every other time.

Who saw this coming? Flush with creativity. Temporary secretary is monumental and loops over and over in my nightmares. And coming up is a bizarrely ecstatic listen. 2nd half drops off a little, but some really cool instrumentals. Don’t shit on someone for trying to do something new, because a lot of this worked incredibly well.

AARRGHHH. Could have been absolutely phenomenal if it weren’t for some weak tracks. Packed with gems. But take some of the best from Face to Face and replace the likes of love me til the sun shines and act nice and gentle and you have a near perfect album.

I don’t care what you say this is the best slide I’ve ever heard. The whap he gets on the strings oh boy and the vocals???? One of my favourite blues records.

Does anyone have any right to be releasing a debut album this good? Someone check.
