Imogen Heap - Speak for Yourself
85

a lifechanging and innovative album from back in 2005
im glad to see this getting more recognition and appreciation novadays

⭐ headlock
🔻 clear the area

ГШ [Glintshake] - ОЭЩ МАГЗИУ
65

русские squid
в начале слабовато и излишне затянуто как для меня, в остальном нормально

⭐ получеловек
🔻 скульптура

glass beach - plastic death
85

i finally listened to it, honestly, did not expect this to be THAT good
the way these guys morph from indie rock to post hardcore is so unique

⭐ commatose
🔻 guitar song

The Koxx - Enter
78

first half is kinda mid, rest is incredible

⭐ trouble maker
🔻 531

7.8/10

MORGENSHTERN - ALISHER
60

хороший инструментал, вокал и текст нууу такое

⭐ пустой вокзал
🔻 дом (лондон, прага, ницца)

Auumgn - Out Of Phase
70

broken, heavy and glitched kaleidoscope of genres - shoegaze, noise, idm and ambient
cover describes this album perfectly

⭐ algal vision
🔻 haven

Auumgn - Hermit
80

this mysterious project, which no one knows about except me, is a mixture of genres such as midwest emo, freak folk and neo-psychedelia, it sounds very weird, but at the same time amazing.

⭐ native static
🔻 degenerate wisdom

8/10

Squid - Cowards
90

my one of the most anticipated albums of the year is finally out

i was beginning to think Squid had created their own genre cuz i can't describe the music i just listened to

these sounds of unknown creatures, layering, progressiveness, instrumental blending with vocals and at the same time glitchy yet dreamy synthesizers creating the most atmospheric album Squid has ever released

⭐ showtime!
🔻 fieldworks I

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - "NO TITLE AS OF 13 FEBRUARY 2024 28,340 DEAD"
85

apocalyptic masterpiece
'babys in a thundercloud' and 'raindrops cast in lead' are lifechanging masterpieces and one of the best gy!be songs

⭐ raindrops cast in lead
🔻 sun is a hole sun is vapors

At the Drive-In - Relationship of Command
90

a post-hardcore classic
the most iconic representation of raw emotion and adrenaline

⭐ one armed scissor
🔻 mannequin republic

Radiohead - Amnesiac
80

the most chaotic experimental shit by radiohead but at the same time awesome
second half is good but first one is much better imo

⭐ i might be wrong
🔻 hunting bears

8/10

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Wild God
70

good but gets boring towards end

⭐ final rescue attempt
🔻 as the waters cover the sea

7/10

Radiohead - Hail to the Thief
87

i like electronic experiments, but songs like 'the gloaming', 'scatterbrain' and 'i will' shouldn't be here
prob reason why it's underrated is that it's too long for a radiohead album

⭐ 2 + 2 = 5
🔻 i will

JPEGMAFIA - I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU: DIRECTOR'S CUT
75

ngl, if rating only new tracks its cool but nothing especially good
side b is kinda weak tho

⭐ protect the cross
🔻 take an (instrumental)

7.5/10

MORGENSHTERN - Последняя Любовь
80

без капли рофла

8/10

Radiohead - OK Computer
95

the theme of the album is so real novadays 🙏
its near-perfect, should i even review this?

⭐ exit music (for a film)
🔻 airbag

Radiohead - The Bends
75

you allowed to hate me, you allowed to call me stupid or whatever you want to

but i don't think its THAT good improvement over 'pablo honey'
its still very good, its better, but its overrated

ngl i just don't like slow songs like "high and dry", they are really boring for me i'm sorry

⭐ just
🔻 high and dry

Radiohead - Pablo Honey
70

ngl it's not THAT bad
inconsistent and bald sometimes but not bad for debut
vegetable is the best track on here tho

⭐ vegetable
🔻 thinking about you

7/10

Porridge Radio - Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me
70

i really dissolve in the sky listening to this

⭐ anybody

"@tistan comparing this to slayyyter doesn't automatically prove a lack of ambition either. genres are built on shared aesthetics. you could apply the exact same logic to synthpop, shoegaze, rage, jersey club, literally anything. similarity alone is not proof of creative bankruptcy. also, burnout doesn't automatically mean the music is objectively getting worse. sometimes it just means you’ve consumed too much of the same style in a short period of time. that’s a listener-side issue as much as an artist's-side one. know the difference"

"@tistan this isn't really criticism, it’s more of an emotional rant. you keep saying "everything sounds the same" "0 ambition" "no evolution" but you never actually explain what you mean by that. which albums are copying each other? what specific trends or production choices are becoming repetitive? what would "evolution" even look like to you? also reducing an entire scene to "slopfest" just bc most releases didn’t personally connect with you says more about your current burnout with the genre than it does about the actual state of the music."

On Itscominghome's review of Afterlife Slave - THE WARPING
"comparing this to Discovery sets a very specific standard that not every conceptual electronic project is trying to meet, i don't fully agree that music has to clearly 'tell the story' without context for the concept to work. in many genres, especially electronic music, the narrative is often meant to be abstract or supported by external material. most of the arguments feel more like personal preference presented as universal rules for me"
