Courting - Grand National
65

sounds good but i don't really stand with this vibe

⭐ grand national
🔻 slow burner

Arcade Fire - Funeral
80

the only reason i don't give it a 9/10 or 10/10 is cuz most of the songs on here, except 'tunnels' and maybe 'crown of love', feels like they were written just to make this a full album, cuz those two are another level of music, well that's just my feelings, still awesome ofc

⭐ neighborhood #1 (tunnels)
🔻 haiti

8/10

Muse - Black Holes and Revelations
80

hell yeah, i love reviewing Muse albums

this one sounds more progressive and spacey (that's why it's called like that). i'm really enjoyed the vocal layering and instrumental experiments that makes each song sound more elegant, listening to any song here, i imagine i'm fighting aliens in space to protect the earth

so overall, it's awesome, probably Muse's best, but not my favorite bc Showbiz exists

⭐ take a bow
🔻 invincible

Le Tigre - Le Tigre
65

this lp has one of the my most favorite songs ever - deceptacon
the rest of the album is kinda mediocre

⭐ deceptacon
🔻 whats yr take on cassavetes

English Garden - 321!
90

this one is crazy

English Garden - Lo and Behold
80

it has some bcnr vibes on here

English Garden - English Garden Party

⭐ language barrier
🔻 melancholic alcoholic

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk
90

this is what we need for a 21st century synthpop album
psychedelic, catchy, and gorgeous project

⭐ death & romance
🔻 love is everywhere

C418 - Minecraft - Volume Beta
98

almost perfect as alpha

⭐ haunt muskie
🔻 mellohi

9.8/10

C418 - Minecraft - Volume Alpha
95

even through nostalgia, this album is an absolutely perfect musical creation

⭐ living mice
🔻 death

Placebo - Never Let Me Go
78

its definitely very underrated and overhated
a bit too long, but if you take out a few songs its gonna be one of the best Placebo albums

⭐ forever chemicals
🔻 this is what you wanted

7.8/10

JPEGMAFIA - I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU
90

chaotic and dark non-skip banger, every track is HIT
my fav jpeg album probably

⭐ jihad joe, i scream this in the mirror before i interact with anyone
🔻 don't put anything on the bible

Radiohead - In Rainbows
100

yeah i can agree that this is greatest album of all time, but not for me, still perfect

⭐ weird fishes / arpeggi

King Krule - Space Heavy
75

not my favorite thing from the archy's discography
but still good and interesting

⭐ space heavy
🔻 if only it was warmth

The Smile - Cutouts
90

i'm absolutely seriously about to say that this is their BEST album so far, even if it's "wall of eyes b-sides"

🔻 instant psalm
⭐ zero sum

Sprain - The Lamb as Effigy
100

rage and pure madness
this is the most chaotic and emotional thing i've ever listened to
underrated as hell

⭐ man proposes, god disposes

Money - Money
75

holy insane underground shoegaze

🔻 down4ever
⭐ slower hell

Flip Top Head - Up Like A Weather Balloon
85

the first thing i want to say is that this ep reminds me of english teacher's last lp "this could be texas", which is a good thing cuz i love it

the second thing is that i dont really like the vocal style and completely agree with @DiceBloke take about songs blending, but thats alr, its still fantastic debut ep

⭐ parish café meetings
🔻 weightlifter

Jane Remover - Census Designated
100

no one on this planet understands how good this album really is and how much i love it

⭐ backseat girl
🔻 cage girl / camgirl

"@tistan comparing this to slayyyter doesn't automatically prove a lack of ambition either. genres are built on shared aesthetics. you could apply the exact same logic to synthpop, shoegaze, rage, jersey club, literally anything. similarity alone is not proof of creative bankruptcy. also, burnout doesn't automatically mean the music is objectively getting worse. sometimes it just means you’ve consumed too much of the same style in a short period of time. that’s a listener-side issue as much as an artist's-side one. know the difference"

"@tistan this isn't really criticism, it’s more of an emotional rant. you keep saying "everything sounds the same" "0 ambition" "no evolution" but you never actually explain what you mean by that. which albums are copying each other? what specific trends or production choices are becoming repetitive? what would "evolution" even look like to you? also reducing an entire scene to "slopfest" just bc most releases didn’t personally connect with you says more about your current burnout with the genre than it does about the actual state of the music."

"comparing this to Discovery sets a very specific standard that not every conceptual electronic project is trying to meet, i don't fully agree that music has to clearly 'tell the story' without context for the concept to work. in many genres, especially electronic music, the narrative is often meant to be abstract or supported by external material. most of the arguments feel more like personal preference presented as universal rules for me"
