How TF is unoriginal rated lower than all the other A sides what are people smoking
Title track finally clicked, I've always liked Siberian Khatru but I have to confess I really just don't get And You and I at all. It's a struggle not to fall asleep every time I listen to it and brings the album down quite a bit. Nevertheless a very solid prog album
Really cool sound just not my thing at all and didn't click for me personally, I feel bad sometimes using a purely subjective rating scale because I end up rating things lower than their quality deserves
Not big on the last two tracks, so if those supposedly carry the album idk if there's much here
Nvm I love country music. Every song except peoria lunchbox blues just keeps growing on me, but honestly I still don't skip it because it just makes it that much more satisfying to hear Jason Molina's beautiful, beautiful voice again in John Henry afterward
I feel like I'm looking through glass at something I know is really good but I just can't get to it myself
Finally some good fucking food
I find it easier than most probably to overlook the last third or so (though I like Preacher Man, BATB and Last Breath probably more than others seem to) but the first 2/3 are some of the most interesting, diverse, and just generally fire songs Kanye has put out since the early days
ALL THE LOVE is in the top 5 songs Kanye has ever made and I will die on that hill. Song of the year IMO
On relisten I liked this more than I thought I would. Middle drags a bit but the album pulled me back in at the end which isn’t easy to do
Listen gentle-magic alive is one of the most incredible back to back track runs I've ever heard. Rest of the album is great too. So addicting. McKinley Dixon is one of the most talented musicians of the modern era
I genuinely cannot put into words how many different emotions this record took me through but I do know I absolutely loved it
And at last, Pink Floyd has come together as a unit that works seamlessly together, and what an absolutely incredible piece of art they've created as a result. This is the kind of album that makes me wish I could make music. From start to finish--which, in the album, are aptly matched together, fading you slowly in and out from nothing--Pink Floyd lifts you outside of yourself and up into space, floating over the globe and looking down upon lifetimes, upon humanity, the smallness of who we ... read more
This album had me bored out of my mind. Jimi Hendrix is an incredibly talented guitarist but all along the watchtower was the only song that I could bring myself to be remotely invested in unfortunately
Cool sound but really nothing about this album captivated me. Trying Times and Make Something Up caught my attention first listen but when I went back to them later it didn’t really stick. Can see why someone would like this but I don’t think it stands out within its genre for me
Feels like a love letter to EDM and I am here for it. I appreciate that this feels really coherent and intricately made too; sometimes albums like these can tend towards just being a lot of loud sound but it seems like slayr has a really strong sense of melody and how to put a damn good song together. Enjoyed this listen a lot, will def be coming back to this album
Really wish I got it. I can feel the emotion in this album it just didn't resonate with me at all and I was tired of it by the end.
The Atom Heart Mother Suite is criminally underrated and is an absolute masterpiece that transcends progressive rock. Those trying to compare it to the rest of prog are putting it in a box it doesn't deserve. Summer '68 is also great, and Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast is ridiculously overhated. This is one of Floyd's best albums regardless of what they say about it
Only thing keeping this from being a 0 is that it's so bad it's somehow funny
Someone I know once called Too Long the Stairway to Heaven of French House, and it's stuck with me ever since. Anyways this album is incredible. Too Long and Digital Love are my favorites, Crescendolls is the only weaker track imo. Discovery in my opinion is a great case for meeting music where it's at because what it lacks in depth and harmony it makes up for in innovation and pure raw energy; it's the best at the specific niche it tries to fill--so it's fair if it's ... read more
