Lonely Generation is usually more solid than surprising. But one moment comes out of nowhere.
Echosmith continues to come across with a little bit of forgettability and a little bit of cringe with the occasional catchy hook or fun song. The way this record explains being young in the modern and digital age comes across really strange to me too because it's incredibly "fellow kids" feeling for being written by fairly young people.
This album has a smooth pleasant glowing synth production, a slight evolved form of their sounding from the debut, still keeping the same essence. I liked, it's good. But I keep wanting more personality exuding from the songs and more highlights. Still a little forgettable.
FAVE TRACKS: Diamonds, Stuck, Scared to be Alone, Love You Better, Shut Up and Kiss Me.
LEAST FAVES: Cracked, Last Forever.
started off strong but went a little downhill in terms of quality, however there are a couple songs i would replay such as diamonds and cracked.
This album has its moments and good hooks, and Sydney is one of my favourite singers, but it's quite a slog to get through. I probably will revisit it occasionally out of being a fan, and the songs being barely interesting enough, but their best work is certainly not found on this album.
