Spellbound performs an amazing act of magic by making Paula Abdul sound like a human being.

AllMusic
This was a safe follow-up to a massively successful debut, and surprisingly enough for a pop star, the baby steps she took toward becoming a respected artist were sure and solidly embraced.

Her voice has improved in the 3 years that have gone by since her last album, she now has enough vocal strength to sing genuinely great ballads (Rush Rush, Blowing Kisses In the Wind, etc). The production is very early 90s but has aged very gracefully. Overall it's very different from Forever Your Girl, it shows more personality and is more unique in that ... read more
