With each new release, Wilderun becomes more characteristic and commendable, carving out their own vital, remarkable, and invigorating place within their stylistic landscape. Epigone is no exception.
Epigone continues to build on the impressive foundations laid down by Veil Of Imagination and broadens their experimental horizons with a wealth of vivid textures and meticulously crafted intricacies that take an amazing amount of talent and precision to coordinate.
Via a somewhat hazy and convoluted conceptual thread that deigns to unpick the emotional maze of creativity itself, this is another grand leap into hitherto untouched musical and emotional depths.

O shit, Opeth 2 just dropped!!
And yea, they are trying too hard to sound epic, but shit's still good enough.
I like the acoustic parts more than the heavy ones.
Wilderun are a band I recently discovered and their craft has a lot of merit to it. I think this one is pretty neat even if its a little derivative. The highs on this one are quite fantastic but it drags here and there. Overall it serves its purpose but could be better.
Why is it so long and dull!!! I think the first 19 mins (2 songs) may be the most boring thing i've every listened to. The rest was alright but a step down from veil of imagination in every way.
Exhaler - 85
Woolgatherer - 80
Passenger - 70

Ambition - ?
Distraction - 80
It doesn't quite hit the highs of Veil of Imagination, but it's really good. There are just so many long clean or acoustic sections that, at times, made me lose interest. I would've preferred more death metal sections, honestly. But I still love WIlderun's symphonic soundscape that is as grandiose as ever. Good stuff.
When it came out I literally, somehow, didn’t love it as much as the last album…BUT I GENUINELY DONT KNOW HOW I THOUGHT THAT WHEN THE FIRST SONG SAS EXHALE?? SO GOOD LIKE ACTUALLY MY FAVORITE OPENER TO AN ALBUM EVER. Omg what the balls omf.
