Thoroughly invigorating, rocking harder and better than any of its rock or rap peers in 1986, and years later, that sense of excitement is still palpable on this towering success story for rap in general and Run-D.M.C. in specific.

Run-D.M.C.'s guitars stopped being a gimmick on Raising Hell. The album's minimalist beats and simple but deft sampling and scratching allow plenty of space for the hard rock to really scream.

classic classic CLASSIC THIS THING STILL GOES HARD NEARLY 40 YEARS LATER ONE OF THE MOST SEMINAL AND IMPORTANT ALBUMS i̶n̶ ̶h̶i̶p̶ ̶h̶o̶p̶ OF ALL TIME. POSSIBLY THE FIRST TRULY GREAT HIP HOP ALBUM TO THINK THEY WERE COOKING THIS HARD BACK IN 1986.

Brief Review: While very primitive in its style, “Raising Hell” is a really fun rap rock album. Considering these guys pretty much revolutionized rapping, this really shows the talent they really had. Flows are great, instrumentals, again primitive, but fun & the bars are pretty solid too. Also loved the little rap rock tracks on here, really added to the fun of everything on here. Thats pretty much it really, its nothing mind blowing or anything. Ensimmäinen rap julkaisu jota voi oikeasti pitää hyvänä albumina. Albumilla on heikompia kohtia, mutta on yllättävän tasainen kokonaisuus. Paras kappale on it's tricky mutta toisin, kuin sitä edeltäneet albumit ei koko albumin identiteetti pyöri yhden kappaleen varassa ja kaikki muut ovat heikon tuntuisia.

It’s very influential to hip-hop music, but the flows here are basic, the rhymes are simplistic. It feels like an on the spot freestyle on every song. That being said it really doesn’t sound bad and I like the Aerosmith track and the title track

Today’s is Run-D.M.C.’s Raising Hell, released on May 15, 1986. This LP is great. “Raising Hell” by Run-D.M.C. shows how good rap and rock elements are together. Both of these elements appear on “Walk This Way” and the self-titled track, “Raising Hell”. Also, help make hip hop music mainstream with “It’s Tricky”. This project is why hip hop stands to this day.
