The massive lite-EDM duo the Chainsmokers portray themselves as hilariously repugnant caricatures, and on Collage, they paint a photorealist portrait of their manspread over the charts.

One of the most uninspired and unpleasant records I've heard. It's simply unlistenable.

It’s about damn time that I’ve returned to the depiction of awe.
Collage is the pinnacle of everything wrong with mainstream pop in this modern day and age, because mostly everything on this EP sounds flat with no dynamic quality whatsoever. I will admit that I liked Bouquet from 2015, which showed that they could make some quality EDM club bangers, but on here, it’s been wiped away to make room for a more generic and tepid taste.

It's an improvement over the dumpster fire they'd eventually drop the following year but that mostly comes down to the significantly smaller runtime and the ability to make hooks that, while excruciating, give the songs something - not a good "something", but something at least.
