It’s a groundbreaking release from one of the most influential duos in music. Anyone who appreciates well-written lyrics or fancies themselves some folk tunes will not regret checking it out.

Though a rushed effort, this was a far stronger album than their debut, mostly thanks to Simon's compositions; indeed, in one fell swoop, the world learned not only of the existence of a superb song-poet in Paul Simon, but, in Simon's harmonizing with Art Garfunkel, the finest singing duo since the Everly Brothers.

The History of the Albums – n°288 [first episode of the year 1966!]

For this album exudes urgency, haste. As its cover suggests, SIMON & GARFUNKEL have to move ... read more

faves: i am a rock; title track, richard cory, a most peculiar man, blessed, leaves that are green
least faves: kathy’s song, ... read more

Do y’all remember when “the sound of silence” was used in a lot of sad memes back then?

Album Trade Week 8: @TreeofAllTime

This is some solid 60s folk pop. Simon & Garfunkel are some of the biggest names of the folk pop genre and it’s easy to see why, this is some really relaxed but great music. The guitars are really pretty but they can go a little harder on the more rock-like songs, and the rest of the instrumentation really takes a backseat to the guitars for the whole album but the drums and percussion and the sort are still solid enough. The vocals from both Paul ... read more
