I mean… it’s not bad
And at least it’s better than Deadbeat, not by much though

Best song: Desire Be Desire Go: 76/100
Worst song: Slide Through My Fingers: 61/100

Tame Impala has always been good.

Tame Impala's self-titled EP is the second project released by Kevin Parker under this moniker, shortly after their first EP. On this project, even if the tunes aren't the most memorable in the world, you can already see a big improvement when it comes to the production and mixing of their tracks. All the tracks are multi-phased and have that classic psychedelic rock sound I love from Tame Impala. It's a pretty strong EP that foreshadowed how ... read more

This EP showed potential but wasn’t a strong one overall, it would frequently become repetitive and messy.

A big step towards the sound we know today. Also an improvement over the last EP

This EP sounds straight out of the 60s/70s Psych rock scene, like the way he captures that sound is absolutely unreal. Most the songs also sound straight off of The Beatles white album and I don't know if I'm crazy for hearing that but it feels right.
And Tame Impala sounds like Forty One Mosquitoes Flying In Formation in the best possible way. Overall just a great early project from him!

o verdadeiro debut ep do tame impala....

The only thing I obtain from Tame Impala's self-titled debut is the very present late 60's psychedelic influence of the Beatles. Not much else to say.

Tame Impala show a lot of potential on this EP, and they would go on to do even better in the 2010's and so on. This project has some nice 60s psych rock influences along with a hint of garage rock thanks to those gritty guitars

Fave Tracks: "41 Mosquitos Flying In Formation"; "Skeleton Key" (the iTunes bonus track "Wander" would be up there too)

Tame Impala's debut self-titled EP is a bit interesting. A very unique sound yet terrible mixing. Not too enjoyable to listen to because of this, but it's still a pretty fun project. The roots of his psychedelic sound are very much present on these tracks.

The debut, self-titled EP from Tame Impala may feel a little dated on listen, but tracks such as A Half Full Glass Of Wine have cemented themselves as still being some of his best work to date. A very strong, consistent EP from start to finish, really nailing that 60's sound that he became famous for, granting him the title of sounding like a modern day "The Beatles". An incredibly consistent EP that still holds it own after over 11 years.

The raw sound is good but quality really is a problem i get this was their first ep and that studio budget usually is a problem and effects the quality of the audio but the tracks arent that great in my opinion

Such an interesting EP. You can already hear a lot of the ideas and psychedelic sound that Tame Impala would later perfect on the albums. I love how distorted it is, hell yeah.
