Love the drums, love hearing Kevin Parker doing more than his classic falsetto. You can just about hear the bones of what will one day become Tame Impala's classic sound.

Tame Impala's debut is shockingly impressive. Way before Kevin Parker was a genius of psychedelic pop sounds, he was a solo artist masquerading as a psychedelic garage rock band. But one thing hasn't changed: the music is great. The production is much more lo-fi here, but the gritty sound works perfect for these songs. The 5 tracks (plus the extra song "Wander", which is now an Apple Music exclusive) explode with bombastic energy. The songwriting is for sure amateur, but the song ... read more
An interesting listen but I don't think any of these songs will stick with me long term and it sounds a little fuzzy
This is super underrated, it's actually great. I love the classic psych rock style.
Ignoring the low quality sound, there's creativity and originality in every song. It truly goes for the psychedelic sound of the '60s and '70s. Each song is slower and sounds more mystical than the last, taking you on a journey as you sink deeper and deeper into its trance.
A pretty good EP, sounds very much like The Beatles and 60s psychedelic rock. Lots of fuzz, and the standout tracks are definitely Half Full Glass Of Wine and Wander.
It may be intentional but the poor mixing throws me off quite a bit.
Best tracks - Skeleton Tiger, Half Glass Full Of Wine, Wander
Worst track - Slide Through My Fingers.
Favourite Tracks: Desire Be, Desire Go, Half Full Glass Of Wine, Wander

Melhor Música: Desire Be, Desire Go
While I was looking at other people's thoughts on this album, a lot of them were reminded of 60s Lennon, and I'm gonna have to agree. Not to say that it's derivative, but you could tell he was inspired by that era, even to the point of Kevin sounding like Lennon at times. Still, the album is an admirable nod to the psychedelic rock of that era, and it pulls through really well.
I'm not gonna say it blew me anyway, but there are some gems in this one. For instance, I think that tracks 2 and 3, ... read more
SLOW RUSH HYPE PT 1
good start for one of the defining acts of the 2010s. i wouldn't say this ep has the ethereal quality of tame's future work, but it has a nice classic psych aesthetic that has aged remarkably well. don't skip it.
