Pretty middling album from every standpoint besides vocal performance. I hear one too many dramatic line cliches and I tend to lose interest on principle. Maybe with some better instrumentals, Celeste becomes something special, because she really does have the vocal chops.
First: Yes, Fuck Alexis Marshall. I'm here to talk about the music, though.
So many things about You Won't Get What You Want should work when you think about them. Repetitive bass lines, extraneous fuzz, heavy and intense drums, near-haptic high drones? Sounds fucking GREAT to me. But it sucks. At the end of the record, I'm left with the idea that Daughters don't understand what's cool about the sound they have created. There are three songs worth a relisten on this ... read more
a bit odd of a mixture, but a nice little snapshot of hardcore in the 80s. japanese music is quite fascinating
overall a really depressing atmosphere and certainly worth a listen, but I don't find it to be a whole bunch more dismal than a lot of other early 2000s hardcore
Suck Suck Suckin Off Brian Wilson (But Its Good This Time????)
Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!
These are kinda sweet! go lemons!
A side: In the imitative vein of 90s-60s-revival, these guys have it to a science. I think I've Got A Broken Heart is one of their better songs, weirdly original for what it imitates, nice guitar solo, fun bass mixing!
B side: what the fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk michael you are not a beatle
featuring joan baez on your protest folk song is probably an indication that what you’re talking about is important. look through the low ratings of this single for people you should block.
sure, she's being vulnerable, but it feels like too little too late
You must immediately understand: this one of the best Les Rallizes Denudes archival releases. Unbelievable production for a '76 live album. Half of the recordings on Jittoku '76 are the definitive versions of those songs. Along with CITTA '93, this is a must hear for anyone interested in LRD or even the concept of jam bands.

I knew I didn't tend to like nu metal going into L.D. 50, and it in no way changed my mind. This band is simply defined by bassist Ryan Martine. L.D. 50's best aspect is simply the bass writing. I know this isn't a hot take, but I have nothing to add to the discussion about this album than that. Its not a very interesting project to me.
Absolutely incredible punk, they're still right, another series in rolling stone L reviews
Fun and energetic production, super innovative. worth a listen and growing on me quickly!
