I absolutely love By the Time I Get to Phoenix but this records sound just does not do it for me. I think the opener track is absolutely incredible, and I think the last 3 tracks are also great. However, the five in between are a bit of a blur.
Sorry bro you can dislike this dude all you want but the music has always been quality.
This album contains some of his best production yet, with a lot of the rock influence coming back from ILDMLFY, along with some dubstep mixed in. I see the criticism of his rap performances being repetitive and I think that is fair. However I happen to enjoy aggressive fast rapping style he has been consistent with as of late. Homogenic is probably the album that cemented Bjork as a musical genius. This album is absolutely mind-blowing at points and does an amazing job telling a cohesive story. It is understandable to see why a lot of people feel this is her best album as it is incredibly consistent and highly conceptual. It also contains some of her absolute highest highs such such as Joga, Bachelorette, and the absolutely insane Pluto.
