Honestly a great album. I really like Digital Bath. All the songs are really good. Even the long ones don't feel too bloated.
Probably the best album of 2022. Probably one of the best albums I've ever listened to.
Radiohead meets Flying Lotus. I'm all for it.
[87 -> 96] This album grew on me big time.
I gave this album a few listens. The first few times I couldn't get farther than the first 45 minutes. The most recent 2 times have been all the way through. I listen to it without Yum-Yab Killers and Hypogirl because I feel those take away from the album a little. I'm going to go into details now.
The first 4 tracks are some of the best songs ever made in music history. Red Velvet Corridor starts out the album in a great way. It is haunting but calming at the same time. It feels distant; as ... read more
Nice collection of songs. Not the best recording I've ever heard but the mixing is on point. Also great transitions for being recorded at different shows.
Really good start. Still great lyrics and themes, but I feel this album doesn't have as much of an emotional impact as the first album did. Instrumentally, this album is more involved in the front end, which works great. The final 2 songs don't have enough for me to grasp onto for me to rate them high. If those last 2 songs were shorter or more active, I would rate the album at least 10 points higher. The last 2 songs could work good for sleeping though.
Super heavy, super aggressive, wow. The mixing and recording makes me feel like I'm trapped in a dark basement while being beaten with a 2 by 4. Very interesting, but nothing I would want to come back to on a regular basis.
Grew on me a little bit [50-60], but I still have the same issues with this album as I had before. It's an extremely hard listen.
Lawn chair and records are fine. Nothing interesting or great about it. I actually liked the start of blue like jazz but the chorus is really bad. The rest of the album feels forced and boring. The end of thank you and good night is actually a banger though.
I liked the beginning a lot. The daughter brings the water is the only song that didn't work for me. I didn't really understand the ending and I think they should've expanded on the story and the atmosphere a bit more. I always felt this album was in a dark forest or something and I felt they could've gone a little bit farther to solidify that feeling. I loved the music but I would've liked to be a little more immersed.
Funky, catchy hook, great bass work, good beat. Good background music. Probably won't come back to this song. The singing and melody aren't horrible but nothing special.
I love the instrumental and the ideas on here. The instrument palate on here is so diverse that the formulaic elements of it really don't shine through too much. I think the weakest thing in this song is the lyrics. The flow is fine and the delivery is cool, but I really want some lines that aren't about 'Matt against the fictional government'. Honestly the lyrics from Origin and Showbiz are 50 times better and more intriguing than half of the stuff they've done since the dystopian government ... read more
I actually like this song more than compliance in most places but there are some points that are really bad. I feel they are holding back on their creativity to take a cool chant and make it into a over-compressed pop song (Listen to it on iphone speakers). I imagined this song going more into apocalypse please, but we got some weird stuff. It's a cool song with nice riffs but it feels like it should've not been put with a song that had so much potential to be cool. Oh yeah, its the opening ... read more
Kinda cringy. Could've been better if the production felt more raw and less compressed. Also could've been better if it was less formulaic. Live version is slightly better (50), but it's still not a great song. Could be fun to sing along to but we are all done with this dystopian government stuff by now.
