Going into this as my first Daniel Caesar album I didn’t have much to base my expectations on but it didn’t take me long to understand the vibe he was going for. The beginning is really slow and atmospheric, almost as if he’s easing you into the album instead of trying to grab you right away.
As the album progresses, the pacing improves. “Call on Me” and “Baby Blue” bring more energy, and that’s when the album started to click with me. From there, ... read more
I came into this album not knowing what to expect but I still had higher expectations because he just dropped one of his best projects the year prior. I’ve always felt Drake is at his best when he balances rapping and melody but he can fall into stretches where it seems repetitive or dragged out.

This album is widely regarded as Lana’s best album. From what I’ve heard I agree with this. She is a great singer/songwriter. This album blends neo-soul, funk, hip-hop, and jazz very well. I’d describe the instrumentals as very lush and unique. This album has a very organic sound to it. This is a very well written album with D’Angelo touching topics of black identity and love. His voice also compliments the beats very well; it sounds as if he is harmonizing with the instruments at times. This is truly a groundbreaking album heavily inspired by classic jazz records.
Although this music is really well ... read more
