J. Cole - The Fall-Off

slightly overrated. there are a ton of tracks on here that i feel could've been scrapped very easily. The Let Out being tied for worst rated song (29 intro doesn't count and i forgot about only you)) is blasphemy.

The Scythe - Strictly 4 The Scythe
72

decent enough for what was expected.

A$AP Rocky - Don't Be Dumb
81

kind underrated. Doechii on ROBBERY is top 5 features of the year, and not really a bad song on here besides STFU.

Gorillaz - The Mountain
88

really amazing album. there are already 4 songs that could go in the top 10 songs of 2026,

By Storm - My Ghosts Go Ghost
84

really great album from the group. some things get a little too experimental at times though.

Mitski - Nothing's About to Happen to Me
81

really pretty album and my introduction to Mitski. her voice is really good. some songs bet a bit repetitive but other than that it's a great listen.

Baby Keem - Ca$ino
72

Good with quite a few bangers, but not not enough of the innovative rap soundscapes we saw on The Melodic Blue. By itself, it's good enough though.

IDK - e.t.d.s. A Mixtape by .idk.

i think this is a bit underrated. C.O.P. is already top 10 songs of 2026. but with how stacked the future albums for 2026 are, that's kind of hard to say.

MGMT - Oracular Spectacular
83

Fantastic album with a weaker second half.

Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life
100

an immensely beautiful, surreal, and loving piece of art that has captured my heart.

Kendrick Lamar - Section.80
83

Fantastic first album from Kendrick. The perfect set up to his career going forward and a prelude to exactly what we would behold in GKMC

A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Marauders
92

A fantastic, consistent, and imaginative rap album that seems way more recent for being 33 years ago this year.

A$AP Rocky - TESTING
64

yeahhh this album got a lot worse on relisten. There's just so much nothing in the middle to end portions. The beginning has some great songs, but then after Buck Shots, it all just kinda falls apart. Disappointing.

Denzel Curry - Imperial
90

Denzel's most underrated project. Only ten songs, and only one of them ON SPOTIFY is a miss for me. Me Now kinda sucks, but everything else here is amazing in its own right, and shows Denzel developing towards his best work on TA13OO perfectly.

Drake - Nothing Was the Same
84

Fantastic album from an artist who has fallen too far down the corporate greed he had accumulated over the years.

MF DOOM - Operation: Doomsday
83

this album is one of the most perfectly-fit albums for the vibe it's trying to go for. You are reading a comic book when you listen to this album.

Travis Scott - UTOPIA
86

damn, i forgot how good this was. I'd like to take a bit of a hot take and say that this is the most that Travis Scott has ever tried to reinvent his sound and style of music while retaining its biggest strengths. He goes for a much darker vibe here, and I really like that. Especially on songs like SIRENS, HYAENA, CIRCUS MAXIMUS, and the underrated great song that is DELRESTO. He manages to retain his great catchy trap sound with MELTDOWN, FE!N, and SKITZO. And then, to varying success, he ... read more

Dr. Dre - 2001
82

A generational album that capped out a decade and a whole era of rap. If only it was a bit shorter, it could've been a truly amazing album. But now, it's only great. Still fantastic with some amazing songs that seem like the best of the era like Forgot About Dre, Xxplosive, Still D.R.E., and the most underrated song on this album, Bang Bang.

Ween - Quebec
100

proof that if I listen to something I'd usually hate enough, it could become a 10/10 album in my eyes. seriously, I'd usually hate every song on this album besides maybe three if I didn't feel that magnetism toward putting it on repeat over the past week. Hell, I even love the Fucked Jam. It's nowhere near the worst on the album, because I kinda don't like Chocolate Town. idk why tho. seriously, i cannot stress how weird this album is for me. it's not relatable ... read more

On The Velvet Underground & Nico - The Velvet Underground & Nico
"@DarkHorse Sure. I think Venus In Furs is a great song because it manages to combine the great instrumentation with similarly good vocals and lyrics. It's an impressive song for it being made in 1967. On the other hand, Heroin feels like it's constantly building up to something big and it just never really happens. The vocals are fine enough and the instrumentation is also pretty decent. Eventually, around the five-minute mark, the vocals and instruments don't really go at the same tempo and some of the instruments quite literally sound like rusty metal creaking. Also note that this is just on a first listen and that my opinions could change with time, but upon relisten to both songs, Heroin doesn't seem to get any better."
