Scott seems to blend elements of both ASTROWORLD and UTOPIA in this track, making it pretty memorable.
Mogwai show off their impressive instrumentation skills in “The Bad Fire” creating an amazing soundscape that transcends dimensions and realities.
The British Rapper’s debut album fails to land a consistent flow and structure, varying with topics and discussing things irrelevant to what the tracks seem to be about overall. The beats are incredibly repetitive too making this a drag to listen to.
A beautifully self-reflective album full of fantastic production, nostalgic sound and so much more, making this the best posthumous album ever. Rest In Piece, Mac.
2025 has started off good with new Mac Miller. Happy new year folks.
The glaze-fest was on full show in my original review of this. (It's still fucking incredible)
12 year old me would have thought this was the SHIT. How does one craft an amalgamation of such shit? I couldn't get past the fifth track, pure torture.
RATING AND REVIEWING APPLE MUSIC'S TOP 100 ALBUMS #97: Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
It's time for the 97th best album in Apple Music's top 100, Rage Against The Machine. As the title of the album and name of the band suggest, this album is filled with pure rage and anger which elevates it as a whole. It's an incredible blend of hard rock with metal and even rap! The album is jam packed with these blends, but does it deserve it's placement here ... read more
RATING AND REVIEWING APPLE MUSIC'S TOP 100 ALBUMS #98 ASTROWORLD by Travis Scott
We now move to the album that Apple Music claim to be the 98th best album of all time, and Scott's best album as well, ASTROWORLD. I had listened to a few of the songs off of this due to their immense popularity but hadn't heard much else from it aside from standouts like 'STARGAZING' and 'SICKO MODE'. These songs still stand strong today along with others but the rest of the ... read more
RATING AND REVIEWING APPLE MUSIC'S TOP 100 ALBUM #99 Hotel California - Eagles
We are continuing on with our march through the Apple Music top 100 with what Apple Music says is the 99th best album ever, Hotel California. Known for long tracks, saucy guitar and fantastic lyricism, Eagles 1976 project intrigued me and I was looking forward to giving it a listen. After around 10 listens i was able to make my verdict.
Let me start by saying this was one of the most difficult albums to rate. ... read more
My Dad and I have just spent about an hour listening to this album in the kitchen after lunch. As per usual, The Style Council are ever-experimental, using wacky sounds and blending different genre's to create a pretty artistic project. There are even more genre's used such Folk, Ska, Jazz and Rock. Weller proves once again to be an incredible vocalist, even singing in French at one point! Maybe not as good as 'Our Favourite Shop' but still an experimental, creative project ... read more
RATING AND REVIEWING APPLE MUSIC'S TOP 100 ALBUMS #100: Body Talk - Robyn
Today I decided to start a new lil series for myself, and you guys if you would like to follow along, where I will be going through, listening to, rating and reviewing Apple Music's top 100 albums of all time. This is mainly so I can branch out to other genres and so I can give my opinions on the sites top 100. I always want to expand my overall scope of music and by doing this, I'm reaching untouched ... read more
I have to take back my comment on 'Chromakopia' and apologise for calling Tyler overrated because this was amazing. I spent a lot more time listening to Tyler recently after hearing he was a fan of and influenced by one of mine and my dad's favourite bands, 'The Style Council' (check out Nardwuar's interview with Tyler in 2019 to hear more about it).
Igor is a great album filled with amazing songs. From the opening in 'IGORS THEME' to the end with ... read more
That just blew my fucking mind.
Mahashmashana is an exceptional album from FJM, from start to finish. I am a HUGE fan of albums with short run times that focus on quality rather than quantity. It's albums like these that manage to drop less and communicate more. There's less room for error. I was intimidated by 9 minute long tracks but the album doesn't let you get bored of them at all. It creates an insane scape of sound with amazing strings, drums and great jazzy sections. The ... read more
I'm proud to have put this album onto this site, easier than expected!
Many of you, in fact I expect all of you, probably don't know who Telander or Zack himself is and to be fair to you, I didn't till around a week ago. It was a cold Friday morning, I'd just got out of English and was headed to my media class when a notification from my Dad pops up on my phone. It's a video from this guy called Chris Williamson, the owner of the Modern Wisdom podcast and the person ... read more
In honour of Eilish being named Apple Music's artist of the year for 2024, I decided it was necessary I reviewed the album I believe will win album of the year at the grammy's, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT.
Something about the production and vocal processing/recording of this album really intrigues me. It somehow makes you feel as if you're floating in a mixture of deep sea and deep space. It was immediately the first thing I noticed with this album and really made a great impression ... read more
I know I'm around 2 years late to reviewing this but this album slaps. SZA is this generations R&B queen and her musical talent excels and is put on full display in SOS. Her lyricism and storytelling is outstanding, remaining in each track throughout the album. SZA's vocals also are exceptional in this as well, as to be expected. The only criticism I really have is that the album is a little long. Some tracks could have been cut and this really wouldn't have affected the ... read more
I'm so glad I found such a gem in Noname. This mixtape is actually incredible. I'm in love with the jazz-infused rap, I think I've made that obvious, and this is just another example of why. The beats perfectly mix with Nonames deliverance of lyrics and the songs as a whole. The features are also phenomenal, elevating the songs and bringing a new vibe to each. If you haven't checked out Noname yet, I highly recommend you do as she really stands out for me in the hip-hop ... read more
This came up in my drama lesson today. "Lil Yachty? Does he have yachts? God knows I do darling, 5 of them, for special occasions of course.." But yeah it's a tune
With 'Chromakopia' and 'I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU' being the only immaculate hip-hop albums of the year in a time where the genre is at an all time low in creativity and originality, I was scared that hip-hop as a whole was slowly dying. It needed something new, something to propel it back up into a sphere of creativity, marvel and former glory. And who else to provide it to us other than one of hip-hop's greatest artists of all time, Kendrick Lamar.
Kendrick had ... read more
