Daft punk give life back to music on their final LP; Random Access Memories. Before i say anything else, the production quality and love that was put into this record is truly stellar, it's absolutely amazing. It fuses older music with the synthesiser filled sounds that daft punk have been come to be associated with, and it does it near perfectly.
With that said, it really does feel like some of this album drags? A lot of the songs really overstay their welcome, and i find a few of them quite ... read more
This record has some really incredible production, and a nice line-up of enjoyable features. While yeah, it isn't that deep of a record, it's a very fun listen and has high production quality. The first leg of the record is definitely the strongest, though, but that doesn't mean the later cuts are worse by any means. There are for sure forgettable songs on this though. An enjoyable little project.

An all time disco classic that really made waves in the industry. I've got to leave my respects to this record - It has a variety of unique production that was rare at the time, with a concise tracklist of some of the best songs in the genre.
The album is EXTREMELY front heavy - the first 5 songs arguably being the best 5. But that does not mean the rest is any weaker. Even the weakest songs on discovery have a charm and uniqueness to them that just scream daft punk. The record absolutely ... read more
It may not be the strongest record, but for sure one of my favourite neo-disco cuts I've heard lately. The bass is great, the sampling is awesome and despite being a little repetitive, the record is generally consistent in quality. The highlights really, really do shine however. Enjoyed it quite a lot, still in my rotation to this day.

If iridescence was the anger of the unfair situation they were put into by circumstances outside of their control, GINGER is BROCKHAMPTON showing bargaining and depression. A very different tone compared to iridescence, GINGER consists of soulful ballads with their most mature and retrospective lyrics to date. Every BROCKHAMPTON Album has opened with a banger until NO HALO, showing a clear change in tone. Songs like DEARLY DEPARTED give us insight into their feelings about everything that ... read more
BROCKHAMPTON Changed their style perfectly during this rough time in their history. Iridescence is abrasive, full, chaotic but yet so streamlined, beautiful and incredible. The sound design and experimental feel this record has is quite literally immaculate, moments like the NEW ORLEANS - THUG LIFE Transition make my jaw drop, and I feel constantly bombarded by so much incredible energy on all sides.
The vocal performances from every member are far far better, more mature and more energy ... read more
God, the boys peaked with this one. I always preferred their earlier music, and their momentum really seemed to slow down in recent years but this album completely reinvigorated their sound, in my opinion. The production is simply stellar; it has that Memphis / phonk vibe of their earlier EPs, but refined, mastered and more beautiful. Some of the samples on this record are simply fucking awesome, especially the biggie and super Mario world ones. I love the lyricism as well, and i think this is ... read more
SATURATION III Expands even further on the sound SATURATION II develops, and i will claim it perfects it. Every single song hits hard, whether it perfecting on the poppy spark in a bottle the initial SATURATION records showcased, smoothing out the harder rap songs that were not commonplace on the prior records, or introducing entirely new and experimental sounds, as SISTER does. The album's short runtime is catchy, erratic but so, so fun. The album is such a joy to listen to front to back and ... read more
Her Loss brings us the Drake that we've been missing for quite some time now - Hungry, braggadocios and loud. It's the type of album me as a fan has been hungry for since 2015's If You're Reading This It's Too Late. The beats on this project for the most part are all really solid, memorable and give off good Drake vibes. On BS, Privileged Rappers and Pussy and Millions all have very good instrumentals that make the song memorable. The slower and more melodic cuts aren't bad either, with Hours ... read more
SATURATION II offers more of the creative and unique vibes seen on the first in the trilogy, but even more refined, even more carefully crafted and with more explosive, fun energy. The bangers on this album are louder and more exciting than the first installment, with each boy giving off raw energy and sounding enthusiastic with their delivery. JUNKY Has some of the group's best rapping verses to date, and SWEET and GUMMY are two of their smoothest and most repayable songs. The instrumentals on ... read more
Joji's third project consists of all too familiar beautiful ballads. The first disc of the album is honestly filled with some of the best songs I've heard this year. The beautiful "Glimpse of us" gave me huge excitement for the record when I heard it for the first time, with it's gorgeous and smooth piano and sombre lyrics. Dissolve is also one of my favourite songs of the entire year, as a sucker for pretty guitar progressions this one made me smile big.
The second disc however, ... read more
On Heaven or hell, Don showcases a take on Travis Scott's signature sound which provides some fresh vibes to the genre. The project is very inconsistent however, with some songs being very forgettable and sounding like they never really go anywhere, such as Candy. Don's silky vocals are solid and recognisable on every track, although lyrically there isn't much to ride home about. The production is bassy and pretty with some nice synths and enjoyable drums throughout, with No Idea and Wasted ... read more
Kevin Abstract's second LP definitely had it's bright spots - Silky guitar production throughout, hitting on point the southern pop vibe. The record has some great features from Ryan Beatty, especially on Crumble. The appearance of Bearface and Joba on Peach was also very welcomed. Kevin definitely had some great performances on this project, such as the rap banger Boyer and fast paced Joyride, but there are cardinally forgettable and boring parts of the record, where Kevin sounds extremely ... read more
ALL AMERICAN TRASH is not the smoothest introduction to BROCKHAMPTON's world. The tape is extremely messy, with the quality of songs ranging hugely from track to track. Nevertheless, it is certainly enjoyable in it's own right. The highs on the tape are extremely positive, with the solo Kevin track MICHIGAN and silky synth song INFATUATION leaving a very positive mark, and vocals from members Matt and Bearface on HOME are also enjoyable. There are some good rap verses here and there as well, ... read more
The Melodic Blue is a versatile, sporadic and fun project that is one of the better rap LPs released in 2021. It contains some absolute bangers such as the now legendary family ties with Kendrick Lamar, alongside more mellow and relaxed songs like lost souls and issues. The sequencing is a little rough and there are a few misses on the project but I find myself returning to this project often due to it's catchy sound and Keem's unique vocals. The production throughout is innovative and unique ... read more
A beautiful record, filled with creativity and love. This LP has such incredible self production that left me feeling completely shocked and wowed. The ghost concept is extremely interesting and provides a melancholy story which is executed amazingly throughout. The first half of the album is great, but the album truly flourishes with the second half. Born Yesterday and Knots really shine for me personally, but every single track on the record has beautiful production and thematically fitting ... read more
A solid continuation of the sounds begun by House of Balloons, with calmer, more mellow production, and enjoyable ethereal guitar throughout. This instalment of the trilogy is a little weaker than it's prequel and sequel, but it has plenty of enjoyable moments, especially the final four track run, with Gone in particular sticking out as a very unique and chilling track. The tape does drag at parts, with some songs staying a little too long, but the bright parts generally outshine the ... read more
An explosive debut record for the weeknd, this mixtape is revolutionary for the genre and commands the mood with such a refreshing, slow burning force. Filled with dark, luscious production with a beautifully crisp mix and alluring , angelic vocals.

It's safe to say this mixtape revolutionised the genre.

SATURATION is such a memorable record. It's so versatile, from the beautiful ballads WASTE and MILK to the extremely intense songs HEAT and BUMP. This album brought us classics like GOLD and generally is such a blast to listen to, even to this day. The skits do not add much to the experience and the album does have it's weaker spots but on the overall it's a very enjoyable album - and one that aged very well.
