Metallica - Load

Ignoring the horrible drum production and the fact that this is traditionally a thrash band, there are some really good songs on here.

OCEAN - Prince of The Sea

My favorite release of 2025. I really like the lo fi production, and non traditional rock instruments like the piano on ‘for the sun’ and both the piano, flute and trombone on ‘house of sunflowers’. The organ on Kamikaze is also a nice touch. Three corpses, Message to you, and aliens and asteroids are three of my favorites. Can’t wait for the new album!

One of my favorite drum sounds ever, combined with one of my favorite clean tones ever, combined with some of the best songwriting and guitar melodies. Second favorite album of all time. Enough said

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
98

I love post rock, and I hear so much of that in this album. It’s so crazy how so many different bands were influenced by just one album.

Ween - Quebec
88

Some REALLY good stuff on here. Other songs are a little too experimental for my taste, but I get its importance to the dynamic of the album. My first week listen, and definitely not my last.

Faintly Macabre - Faintly Macabre
85

I am the guitarist and keyboardist behind this record. It’s hard to rate a project that I co wrote and co produced because I’ve heard it so much and perform these songs every month, but I think it’s an 85. I can sit here and nitpick the production all day, but I think it represents a time where we were still trying to figure everything out. Into stasis and butterfly both carry a lot of emotion for me. I love my friends. FM FOREVER!

The Sundays - Blind

Peak summer music

Primus - Frizzle Fry
84

These guys suck

Pixies - Head Carrier
81

These guys are always hit or miss with their songs for me.

Mogwai - Mr. Beast
96

Some of the most peak stuff from Mogwai.

Nothing - Guilty of Everything
88

I think I understand shoegaze now

Slowdive - Slowdive
76

I gotta say i was kinda disappointed. Just for a day and souvlaki are two of my all time favorite records, and I wasn’t really feeling it with this one.

Chapterhouse - Blood Music
91

Feels like summer

Coldplay - X&Y
92

Peak stuff, very consistent

Dinosaur Jr. - Dinosaur
93

Great album, ahead of its time by a long shot. Sounds great in good headphones, but it’s almost unlistenable in my car.

WhenWordsFail - WhenWordsFail
89

My words are failing

Mogwai - Happy Songs for Happy People
99

Bought this at a record store without hearing it first, and now it’s one of my most played cds. Soooo gooodddddddd!

Weezer - Pinkerton
97

Great melodies, even better production

Classic sonic youth, love it!
