How is this Biffy Clyro? Saw them live, was blown the fuck away.
A real return to form for the Foos, sparked by tragic circumstances. A really emotionally driven and loud (mostly) album. I enjoyed it a lot though do wonder if this maybe should be the note they end things on. Who knows?
Favourite Tracks: Rescued, But Here We Are, The Glass, Nothing At All, The Teacher

A wonderful noisy and experimental indie-folk project. The first track's screeching violins and noise buildup at the end really drew me in straight away. God, Kiss Her Hands has a wonderful microtonal sound to it. The screeching violins return for Vases, a soft and pretty ballad beneath this contrasting sound. The strangeness of this album really comes out on the song Beauty Of A Horse, an eerie drone sound leads into an explosion 2 minutes into the track, this masterful dynamic control ... read more
Beautiful metal-drone soundscapes. A beautiful listen. Each track brings a different vibe. It won’t be for everyone but man I love it. Probably Sunn O)))’s best album yet. They’ve mastered their craft.

This album blew my mind when I first heard it, some of the most creative rap I have ever heard to this day. clipping. have always been ahead of the curve. The panning on Run For Your Life with the beat coming in passing cars? Absolutely genius. The masterful flow over Story 7 with that groovy-ass beat, the building noise at the end of La Mala Ordina, the industrial tinge of the beats across the album, the ambient elements like on He Dead, the storytelling across the album (The Show) and more ... read more
A brilliant noise-rock/mathcore album with a big switch up in vocal style from Canada Songs (my guess is it wasn’t sustainable), I like it though. The spastic riffs bounce all over the place while Alexis moan-sings and somehow it comes together amazingly, prime examples: Recorded Inside A Pyramid, X-Ray. A short album but it’s definitely no longer than it needs to be. The album flows like one nightmare-ish song. You only get respite from the barrage of noise at Cheers Pricks, a well ... read more
A refreshing blend of psychedelia, country and a little post-punk. The results are really fucking good. This album is incredibly listenable, I’ll be coming back often I think.

Two of my favourite modern rappers going hard as fuck. Peggy’s production is amazing as usual. There feels to be a fair split in the bars and the quality of the tracks is consistent as fuck.
Favourite Tracks: Lean Beef Patty, Steppa Pig, SCARING THE HOES, Garbage Pale Kids, Burfict!, Kingdom Hearts Key, God Loves You, Jack Harlow Combo Meal
Least Favourite Tracks: Orange Juice Jones (Just the beat, the vocals don’t fit it at all on Danny’s section).
An incredible mix of funk and soul with charming production. Sly Stone was an insanely talented artist. The greatest funk album of all time in my opinion.

Amazingly orchestrated, performed and selected tracks by one of the closest bands to my heart. Everything I expected and more.

A perfect album to end their career as The Beatles on (Let It Be wasn’t really recorded as a group), a perfect album musically too. It flows beautifully, not a second is wasted. Every member gets a moment to shine.

Tony and Wiki go together like… name two things. Amazing project. Fried Ice Cream is one of my favourite rap songs of all time.

This album starts off deceptively strong with She, however reveals it’s mixed bag nature by immediately being followed by When Love Comes Knocking (At Your Door), a cheesy song (even by 60s pop standards) with horrible vocals. Some of the songs I do like quite a bit, some of them I cannot stand. Do not even get me started on The Day We Fall In Love, it makes me so uncomfortable despite the decent backing instrumentation. Such an inconsistent record. I’m amazed they became as big as ... read more
A groundbreaking psychedelic rock album, start to finish this album is wonderful. It’s a classic, held in such high regard for a reason.

A beautifully put together acoustic release from Michael Gira & Co. Like a stripped back Swans Are Dead-era Swans album. Well mixed and beautifully written. The 1 hour and 10 minutes flew by. The only track that didn’t fully click with me was Not Alone, I found it a little too one-note I guess and didn’t really like the vocal delivery.

Right, I’m gonna do this track by track since it’s so short.
PREACHER MAN - Nice bassline, however the AI voice was jarring at first. As I got used to it I decided it’s maybe just an effect and people could look back on it like 808s and autotune back in 2008 in the future. Who knows, I don’t actually mind it too much. It’s something new and I appreciate the experimentation.
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST - The mix is far too bass heavy, I like the vocals though. The beat ... read more
A really solid return from Swans, picking up where they left off whilst also hinting at the trilogy to come. I feel like this album is really underrated, maybe the most accessible Swans album (post reunion anyway).
Favourite Tracks: No Words /No Thoughts, Jim, My Birth, Inside Madeline, Eden Prison
Almost perfect however the Cudi Montage is just “meh”. Some of Kanye’s best later career work here, maybe Cudi’s best work ever.
Released in February and probably will be my EP of the year. I did not expect a free jazz post-rock EP but I am loving it. I can’t wait for the album.
An incredible blend of post-rock and post-punk. One of the most exciting groups to come out of this new UK scene. Big things are ahead of these guys. The opening and closing tracks are the perfect bread to this post-x sandwich.
