They released this just a week or so after I finish my Muse marathon, how nice. But anyway, this is certainly an album, I listened to it alright.

Idk this is just the musical equivalent of vaporware, nothing super remarkable here, it's just Muse tripling down on being bad I guess? The lyrics are still so awful, I've seen some generous interpretations of them by some Muse fans, and like ok neat ideas if true I guess but the execution is still horrendous. Matt, I beg you to just hire a ... read more

Well, my Muse marathon comes to an end, and what a wet fart of an ending. Simulation Theory is an interesting album, I generally like to give bands props for trying something new but it also feels like Muse is trend-chasing here so I can't exactly call it adventurous. But I find it a bit refreshing even though a big portion of this album falls flat. First, let's start with the good, The Dark Side, Pressure, Break it to Me, and Blockades are all genuinely great/good songs and I'm glad that even ... read more

This album makes me want to support the military-industrial complex.

This album is the musical equivalent of a below-average YA novel.

Seriously what happened here? Yeah, The 2nd Law was a mixed bag but at least it was fun, most of this album is either boring or embarrassing. It's like they took the worst parts of The Resistance and thought dialing it up a few notches would be a good idea. Matt has never been particularly insightful or subtle with his lyricism, especially when it's ... read more

First The Resistance and now this album both have stellar album art for less than stellar albums.

But I do like this album more than The Resistance at least, it's more musically interesting, more diverse, and just plain fun. I'd take Panic Station any day over most of the vacant political ramblings off of the previous album.

The 2nd Law is a pretty mixed bag though, I don't hate Follow Me as much as the next person but the dubstep wubs just don't work for what seems to be trying to be a ... read more

I don't have much to say about Hullabaloo other than that it's a very strong collection of B-sides plus some rocking live cuts.
