I really enjoyed their last record, so I had a feeling that I'd enjoy this one. Not as good as Girl with Fish but still has some bangers
I mean she's right it'll never be The Cure, but it is a lot better than the stuff that most mainstream pop artists are putting out there rn.
Definitely better than his last record, but still not even close to the best I have heard from Dylan.
Dylan starts his 70s run off pretty rough. Way too long, way too boring, and I genuinely don't think that I will ever have a want to come back to this record.
How could you give this a negative review with that cutie pie staring at you on the cover. Honestly if you handed me this album with no prior knowledge what this was, I genuinely do not think that I would be able to guess that it is Bob Dylan. I kind of respect him for going in a different direction with his music, and there are some pretty good tracks on here. Worth a listen if you're a hardcore Dylan fan.
Going from Blonde on Blonde to this is kinda crazy. I mean it ain't terrible or anything but it's just bland as hell
This is crazy for me because I NEVER normally give two back-to-back perfect scores, but Dylan is just that good. Blonde on Blonde was my first introduction to Bob Dylan, and I have always loved this record but on relisten I have just grown to love this thing even more. I think that this album has some of Dylans most beautiful ballads that he has ever written. I also love the energy on this record, some of Dylans most energetic and funny songs are on this record. This will probably stay my ... read more
Yeah man I was on the fence to give this a perfect score, but I really can't find a reason not to. The only reasons that maybe I wouldn't give it a perfect score is because sometimes the guitar is a little out of tune and it can be a little distracting, but it really isn't that big of a deal. This thing really is a masterpiece, curious to see if anything else in Dylans discography will beat this for me.
I'm gonna be honest I was really surprised with this record. Subterranean Homesick Blues is one of my favorite Dylan songs, so I knew generally to expect going into this, but what I didn't expect was how consistently good this album is. I actually think that every track on here is pretty darn good. Going through every Dylan record has so far been a really great experience, and now I think Dylan is slowly turning into one of my all-time favorite artists.
Overall, pretty solid album from Dylan, not as strong as his has his last two records but still some really great songs on here. It Ain't Me Babe is genuinely one of Dylans best songs.
I didn't know much about this record going into but I gotta say that I'm pleasantly surprised. There is some really great stuff on this record, With God on Our Side and The Times They Are A-Changin' are absolute bangers.
This is the first REAL Bob Dylan album. Almost no cover songs on this record allows for Dylan to show his real songwriting, and it is beautiful, haunting, and even funny at times.
I am going to start my journey of listening to Bob Dylans entire discography, but whether I can finish it is something that I'll have to wait and see. Dylans first record is about what I expected going into it. It's fine, not terrible, just fine. Song to Woody is really about the only thing worth listening to.
While John was making sad boy music Paul was just over making goofy little songs about rams and food. If you can't muster a smile while listening to tracks like Monkberry Moon Delight I just don't know if I can be your friend.
Overall, really enjoyed the record, super impressed by the sound of it considering that the album came out in 71. Really feels like a groundbreaking boundary pushing album, and the true start of a great band. A lot of the tracks don't really even sound like Pink Floyd to me since they're much bluesy than what I have previously heard from them. Great mixing on the album, I absolutely love the way that all of these songs sound. Echoes is definitely the standout track off this record for ... read more
Pink Floyds highest concept album and most lyrically dense. I would be lying if I said that I have not been intimidated to listen to this record because this thing is a BEAST. The album is just shy of an hour thirty and comes in at around 25 tracks so why would I not be intimidated? Funny enough though, I actually think that this is one of Floyds most accessible records out of their discography considering that every song is a good bit shorter than the usual Pink Floyd formula.

Alright... I kinda get Pink Floyd now. I have always enjoyed Pink Floyds music, I think Animals is a great record and Dogs is one of my favorite songs of all time, but beyond that I have never really LOVED Pink Floyds music. I actually have heard this record before but not thoroughly so I never really gave it a fair rating. Listening to this again I actually think that all five songs are pretty close to perfect. Shine On You Crazy Diamonds (1-9) is some of the best music I have ever heard. ... read more
I have been fairly aware of The Doors and their music for a while now, but for some reason I have recently started to fall in love with their music. The sound of this record is remarkable, and I have struggled to find any other bands that scratches the same itch that The Doors do. Which is funny because normally this type of 60s psychedelic rock is never normally my favorite, but for some reason The Doors just work for.
I'm a little torn on this record, on one hand I LOVE the production on this record, but the Beastie Boys vocals can come off as really dated and cheesy at times. The Dust Brothers killed it with the samples on this especially considering that this record came out in the 80s. The vocals while cheesy and dated are energetic and it's a very fun record but definitely hit and miss.
