The new album from the legendary experimental rock band Swans is absolutely at the level that their longtime fans will have expected. Long, ambient, and filled with absolutely exceptional lyrical work, this is a very solid project. However, my predominant issue with it is that some of the songs feel protracted and long for the sake of it, rather than justifying their length. 43 minutes is just too long for a track.
I went into Council Skies with the awareness that I was probably going to overrate it because of my love for Noel Gallagher, but I came away pretty disappointed with the project. The closer is the only really great song on the selection, with others generally falling into camps of either 'not more than just good background music', or 'we have Oasis at home'. Nothing on here is actually bad though, at least.
The LA-based singer has delivered a wide range of different genres on her album "Main Character", all of which are done with both competence and a unique pizzazz which makes Glüme stand out from the pack. This is clearly the work of a very very talented artists who is maturing into something brilliant. I'm very excited to see what will be shown to use over the course of the next few projects.
LVL1 (pronounced Luli, apparently) is a hyperpop artist from Spain whose career really blew up with the memetic "FVN!", a song which closes this LP. While one of the high points, it's certainly not the only thing worth seeking out from PLAY if you like hyperpop. While not the greatest album released in the genre, this is a great lot of fun and definitely worth at least a first listen.
Lithuanian 16-year-old producer and singer, dj nevykele, dropped her first full-length and it shows real, incredible growth from some of her early singles. This is one of the best hyperpop projects I've heard all year, and some of the genre-blending on tracks like "dj susivėlus" shows a real versatility and talent. This is an album I know I will return to and know a lot of songs from this will make my main playlist. This album in place sounds like it could be lost ... read more

Hej Mami was perfectly serviceable and fun, though the Czech verses are much better by virtue of me not being able to understand the cringeworthy lyrics - unlike in the English verses.
Queen of Love is by far the best track on this project, the actual mixing is great.
Płakały is good but ultimately forgettable.
My Sister's Crown is Vesna's weakest song but the acoustic version does work better than the regular one.
Spitting Teeth - 50
While I like the flow on this track, there are places where it feels like lyrics were added purely to make rhymes rather than fitting thematically or sonically. The beat is decent but very repetitive.
Cut My Phone Off - 57
The emo delivery of the sung lyrics is pretty funny, I enjoyed that. I think the beat sounds cheap on this, the MIDI piano will do that for you. I like the lyrics a fair bit, this feels pretty authentic.

Uninviting, unappealing, and terrible. It's the musical equivalent of the people who smoke weed below my window at 3am.
After the hype earlier in the year for this project, and how much I've loved earlier tracks like 'BONNIE' and 'Antonymph', I came into this project really hoping I would love it. And I did love... the back half of this LP. I think that some of the earlier tracks either feel a bit directionless or too focused on a direction at the expense of actually being listenable songs. That back half though... absolutely amazing, I cried.
