Title track is great, and the rest is alright.

This album is undeniably good but very few of these songs hit for me. I did like the few skits sprinkled throughout the album though.
Edit: The bangers on this album, though few, are incredible. Bumps the score a bit.

I think it's easy to dismiss this as just a wall of noise. But when you really start to pay attention, you begin to notice how lush and serene the instrumentation is, and how heavenly those vocals really are.
I think the album cover helps paint the picture this album wants. It is a really, really good album cover.
Also, the bass in this album is nuts it caught me off guard quite a bit.
Inconsistent, but my god is it good when it's good. Quicksand is the prettiest thing I've heard in my life. I also like the more tongue-in-cheek moments in the album, they're neat.
Pretty and blue.

I really do like this album. It stands out in a good way, and I do respect it for being a pioneer in a neat genre, but man this thing is flawed. Not to such a high detriment that the album is soiled because of it, but still, do the songs here need to be as long as they are? I feel like all the 6-minute tracks, with the exception of track 4, could've been cut down a bit. The album just feels a lot longer than it actually is (and it already is pretty long), and I'm not sure if that's because of ... read more
I was surprised to find that this album was very instrumental. It's pretty good won't lie. Yeah.
I was hoping to walk out of this album thinking Scaring The Hoes was a better project, but nah, they're about the same.

Great album. It shows Kanye's immense talent. A lot of these songs are as iconic as they are incredible. I also really love the theming of this album. However, this album undeniably has some... questionable tracks, like New Workout Plan. But for every less-than-stellar song, there are 3 amazing ones.
As an album, it is greater than the sum of its parts.

It's beautiful, and it really doesn't have any bad songs. Whether this is better than Modal Soul or not is up to you, this is basically just as good as that album, but a toned down on the quote-unquote "lo-fi" hip hop stuff.

The extension has some fantastic do-overs, honestly outshining the original tracks on the album, and the two new tracks are pretty damn good.
I do wish the vocals were mixed a bit lower though.

I didn't like this album. The songs on this just sounded repetitive and outright bad. I swear the vocalist sings the exact same way in every song, and I don't mean the raw sound of his voice, but the way he sings, if that makes sense. Now granted, there were some decent songs on here, but as a whole I didn't enjoy this project.
I gotta hand it to this album though, the writing in these lyrics is really good.

The bass is really heavy in this album, adding to the dreary atmosphere a lot. The vocals also have a very effective echo effect. I can see how this album was a pioneer, it's really interesting, though mostly not for me.
Also the last 2 tracks on this thing SUCK.
