The Spongebob sample in the first song is crazy.
Also, this is an insanely good B-side EP. I love every song on this thing. My least favorite is NO! NO! NO! though.
Gimme Shelter is incredible. And, to my surprise, it didn't completely blow every other song out of the water. Yes, it is considerably better than all other tracks on this album, but not so much were I would only ever listen to Gimme Shelter.
Aside from that, this is a decent album. Enjoyed it quite a bit.
Favorites: Gimme Shelter, Monkey Man, Love in Vain, Country Honk
Least favorite: You Got The Silver (last 50 seconds are great but getting to it is so boring).
It's songs like this that make me want to be a saxophonist, just performing in public whenever the desire strikes me.
Cool little find courtesy of Spotify's algorithm. The highlights are worth checking out. Nothing spectacular but it doesn't do anything bad, I'm very neutral to this project.
Favorites: MANDALA, SUMMER'S EDGE.
Least favorite: LURKING 88
No song is particularly great, only one song is particularly bad, every other song is at least good. It's a solid album that's difficult to complain about, though it is overrated by critics. Again, The Stones manages to nail the homey feel with their rock songs, it's something worth praising.
Edit: shrunk quote a bit.
Favorites: Sway, Wild Horses, Brown Sugar

I cannot help myself, I love this record. This particular album, mixing jazz rock with a progressive tinge, really does wonders for me. The keyboard is so slick when it does show up, the drumming is great, the guitar is enchanting. I could go on and on describing how masterful this is, but that would be dumb. Just listen for yourself.
It's phenomenal and criminally underrated. I'm not sure how I even wound up finding this album, but the cover and user score were enticing, and BOY do I not ... read more
I don't get why people dislike this song so much? If it's for the sound then yeah I get that, but people seem to dislike it for reasons other than the sounds. I.E. the lyrics, which just makes me think that they're missing the message of the song entirely.
This sounds like a mixture of Jellyfish and Counting Crows, which results in a surprisingly flavorful musical experience. It's very piano-focused but if i'm being honest, the bass in these songs is the real star of the show. It has this thumping, fuzzy tone that legitimately made me mistake it for a guitar.
Lyrically, this album has a lot of wit to it. Many of these songs are pieces of satire discussing petty, idiotic or just downright pitiful people (tracks 1 and 5, 6, and 11 respectfully). ... read more
You know that gif of Obama looking around, unfastening his hands, spreading them apart as if the action itself was a query?
I feel like I would enjoy this music if every piece of timbre, lyric, and note wasn't encased in forty layers of static and noise. There is so much auditory wadding here it's impossible to tell what is an instrument or not.
All I have to say is that I'd be making music like this if I lived in Austria too I'm ngl.
What am I supposed to say about this?
Mr. Bungle based their whole sophomore album on this thing, didn't they? If not, they at least had to be aware of it.
The King Kong sections were really cool pieces of Jazz, for the record.
Favorites: nine types of industrial pollution (track 3), Sleeping in a jar, The Dog breath variations, The Air, Mr. Green Genes
Least favorite; Any of the skits, but if i had to pick a musical one, Project X. It started off so pretty but turned for the worse quickly.
Random spotify suggestion W?
Wow I am impressed by the production of this album. It's boom bap, yeah, but the instrumentation is super laid back. It adds the perfect backing track to LF's genuinely entertaining and unique rapping. My one gripe is that the songs go on longer than they have to, but still, good album.
Also, these are some colorful interludes.
Favorites: Gameplan, Speak Ya Peace, Hip 2 Da Game
Least favorite: Flip Da Style
Some very nice, high-energy Jazz Rock, with a soothing closer that ties this project up neatly. Far better as a full-album experience rather than something you'd take one or two songs out of, with the title track maybe being an exception.
Favorites: Eat That Question, The Grand Wazoo, Blessed Relief
Least favorite: For Calvin
The Flaming Lips' sound is rich. Their unique cut of neo-psych and pop with unusual strings and peculiar lyrics is incredible. I do not like the lead vocalist's performance on many of the songs here. However, the songs are great, and I love this album's vast sound palette. There is forward-thinking, impressive drum work, too, which adds a gentle yet stern kick to the palette.

Finally got around to listening to this.
Am I the only one who thinks this record is bowie inspired? I noticed it pretty early on in songs like "If I had a Tail." Maybe it's just me, who knows.
Edit: I Appear Missing's chorus has been living in my head for the past week despite hardly listening to the song. Upon revisiting that track, it it probably the best thing I've ever heard. Also Kalopsia sounds way better than before, so: 71>80

It's solid. I don't think thrash is my thing. Though, in this band's particular case, the vocals are very meh.
Favorites: Piece by Piece, necrophobic, Postmortem, Raining Blood.

It's alright. Kind of a weak second half.

Way more relaxed than Discovery, but not to its detriment. I like both albums about the same but for different reasons.
Favorites: Give life back to music, Giorgio, touch, get lucky, fragments of time
least favorite: doing it right
This is a very difficult album to complain about. It's soothing to the soul.
It is very samey, but not to its detriment. The bass and chattering hi-hats serve as a welcome company through the various sax solos and gorgeous singing in this album. It's a work of music that forces you to relax and intake the sounds.
Favorites: The Girl from Ipanema, So danco samba, Doralice, o grande amor
Least favorite: Corcovado
I just wanna start this by saying that 90210 is incredible, and Flying High is definitely not the worst song on this album, it's actually one of my favorites on this thing.
Sadly though, I didn't care much for this project. I guess trap music just isn't for me.
Favorites: 90210, Pray 4 Love, Pornography, Impossible, I Can Tell.
Least favorite: 3500, Oh my dis side.
