Genuinely do not see the appeal at all. A ballache to sit through. Off the meter is the only listenable song, and even then it’s not great.
Still better than mgks sad boy garbage though.
I like the vibes but it gets a little repetitive after a while. The songwriting is really good though. I did find her voice to be a little grading and whiny points.
Favorites: bloodstream, circle the drain, night swimming, up the walls, Lucy
Least favorites: royal screw up, yellow is the color of her eyes, stain
This is an album that I had never listened to but was always like “oh yeah this is one of the best nu metal albums ever”. I decided to give it a spin.
The fusion of genres was sweet, Chester’s voice is obviously amazing. I liked Mikes rapping. I found some of the melodies to be pretty bland and uninteresting. I also found it to be pretty repetitive.
Chester Bennington’s flare and incredible singing voice do a little bit of the heavy lifting. While I didn’t love ... read more
Drugs.
Arguably the perfect metal album. Spiders is one of the best songs of all time.
While I definitely like some songs more than others, the greatness is undeniable.
Favorites: suite-pee, know, sugar, suggestions, spiders, soil, war?, mind, darts, p.l.u.ck.
Least favorites: none
The first half of this record is great. The first 5 songs pack so much umph and personality. The back half seems pretty disconjointed, with a lot of ambient noise separating the metal grooves. The softer stuff is good, but you could tell that that wasn’t really their main bag.
Some of it is brilliant, some of it is very drawn out
Favorites: skweetis, queen, sweet Willy rollbar, revolver, goose freight train, June bug
Least favorites: shevil, lividity
I would give it a higher score but the last 3 songs just take an absolute nose dive in quality. I was really enjoying it up until then though. The melodramatic themes and songwriting had some charm for me. While it doesn’t take many risks, it’s still a decent showing.
Favorites: coming down, you and me, blind, better luck next time, undone, we’ll never know
Least Favorites: walking away, chapter one, the end has only begun
This was a really fun listen. Just come good old classic rock and roll.
Favorites: black dog, rock and roll, stairway to heaven, misty mountain hop, going to California
Least favorites: the battle of evermore
The long awaited OXY* is an expansion of ideas, a unique blend of electronic music, and a very enjoyable batch of glimmering beats and songs.
This is certainly a step up from Hi-fi, which I still think is a good project. I feel like the vision on this one was a lot more distinct. The album flows very well and Plukos brand of house music continues to be extremely pleasant on my ears.

I actually liked this. I can understand some of the hate, but I think this is a pretty well written album with pretty standard acoustic production. Sure there are 1 or 2 corny lines, but I feel like Abrams is still developing as a songwriter.
It might just be the season of life I’m going through right now, but I really enjoyed most of this.
Favorites: risk, blowing smoke, let it happen, I knew it I know you, Gave you I gave you I, close to you
Least favorites: normal thing
The coherent pieces of this record were pretty good, but not enough to redeem how much of a disconjointed mess a lot of this was. I had the same issue I had with Celebrants by Nickel Creek with this album. The highs weren’t as high, but the lows weren’t as low either.
Favorites: dark blue, iwr
Least favorites: desperately, essen #7, zilch
Really fun rock n roll album. I will definitely be listening to this in the gym. Eddie was truly ahead of his time and an innovator in the world of music. You can hear the waves he’s made in guitar players now, and in bands from the past. I liked it.
I know eruption is iconic but man at some points it just sounds like someone musically jerking off in your ear.

A fun funky LP. I’ve never been a huge fan of the chilis so I was hoping to change that. I find the voice grating, and the grooves range from average to pretty good. While it’s not my go to sound, I came away from it with a few songs I liked and was pretty satisfied, minus some odd lyrics.
Favorites: parallel universe, scar tissue, other side, easily, porcelain, the velvet glove, road trippin
Least favorites: get on top, californication
Noisy, passionate, grandiose alternative rock. Pretty great writing across the board and some guitar riffs that just get stuck in your head. I can’t get enough of this LP.
Favorites: whole, covet, pine, bad apple, breathe, comfort, wish
Least favorites: control
Not bad. Just pretty boring. There were some good tracks on it though. Levine’s vocals tend to be pretty grading at some points. While he is a talented vocalist, many of his performances just kind of sound like a love letter to John Mayer to me.
Favorites: harder to breathe, shiver, she will be loved, tangled, Sunday morning, through with you
Least favorites: this love, the sun, secret, not coming home
This is that “summertime on a boat with a beer” country music.
I liked some of it. Generally I lean towards the more introspective singer-songwriter style of country music. I found some of the songs a little cringe worthy and Top’s voice just kind of rubs me the wrong way sometimes. Nothing terrible. Just a pretty average country record.
Favorites: cowboys like me do, dirt turns to gold, ain’t that a heartbreak, I never lie
Least favorites: sounds like the radio, cold ... read more
