Brent Faiyaz - Larger Than Life
75

Brent Faiyaz gives some nice R&B vibes on this album. I really like this production and Brent’s voice can match up with pretty much every beat here. This whole thing is pretty chill.

Best Tracks: Forever Yours, Best Time, Moment of Your Life, Outside All Night, Upset, On This Side, Belong to You, WY@

Worst Track: Pistachios

MIKE - Black Soap
65

After May God Bless Your Hustle, MIKE would experiment with more glitchy production rather than the raw production he would usually use. Compared to that, Black Soap isn’t as good because it feels like more of a transitional period. But the short album is pretty good by itself, even if it somewhat struggles to stand on its own.

Best Tracks: Ministry, Time Ain’t Enough, God Save the Queen

Worst Track: Like Mask

ScHoolboy Q - CrasH Talk
75

This is probably ScHoolboy Q’s most accessible album to date. Although the sound is much more simple than before, it’s still very hard. Especially the production. You have so many hard-hitting beats on this album that they practically complete the songs by itself.

Top 3 Tracks: Tales, Dangerous, Attention

Worst Track: Lies

Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - Bandana
80

Not only is this another exceptional collaboration between these two, but it seems like Madlib, instead of doing what he usually does when he finds an incredible loop and repeats it for the whole song, he actually has some beat switches and even has some trap mixed in there.

Best Tracks: Half Manne Half Cocaine, Crime Pays, Massage Seats, Fake Names, Flat Tummy Tea, Situations, Giannis, Cataracts, Education, Soul Right

Worst Track: Gat Damn

Ghais Guevara - BlackBolshevik
65

This album is very experimental with its production. It’s all over the place. Sometimes it transforms into something that’s very great and creative, while other times it can feel a bit tacky.

Best Tracks: Fuck the Nordic Model, Operation Cyclone, Kidnap Mark Cuban Then Hide Away In Cuba, Prison Riot

Worst Track: Shaun King Isn’t Seeing Heaven

Joeyy - Just Tired
5

One of the most boring pieces of music I’ve ever heard. Joeyy’s vocals are almost unlistenable and the production is mid at best. I could tell almost no effort was put into this.

Best Tracks: N/A

Worst Track: Muskrat

Kid Cudi - Indicud
70

Kid Cudi makes an album with a much more intense sound than his previous albums. It even gets a little experimental with some of these weird beats we see Cudi on. It’s pretty great despite being inconsistent, especially in the second half.

Top 3 Tracks: Just What I Am, Unfuckwittable, Solo Dolo Pt. II

Worst Track: Beez

Jean Dawson - CHAOS NOW*
80

This album is full of excitement, entertainment, and ambition from Jean Dawson’s vocals and instrumentation. It makes for a truly amazing listen that gives you pretty much everything you want from it.

Top 3 Tracks: HUH, POSITIVE ONE NEGATIVE ONE, BLACK MICHEAL JACKSON

Worst Track: PIRATE RADIO

Yeat - AftërLyfe
30

The problems on Yeat’s previous releases continue on Aftërlyfe, where he is his own worst enemy. We only get a couple tracks where we see him experiment while the other 20 tracks are just basic and annoying rage trap. What’s even worse is that those couple songs where Yeat experimented were actually really good. Also his vocals still suck.

Best Tracks: Mysëlf, Nun id change

Worst Track: Now

Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon
95

The Dark Side of the Moon is not just a space rock album, but an album so incredible, climatic, and inspirational that it will influence rock as a genre for generations.

Top 3 Tracks: Time, The Great Gig in the Sky, Us and Them

Worst Track: Brain Damage

Cities Aviv - COME TO LIFE
70

Cities Aviv’s vocals are much more present on this album than on Black Pleasure, but the production takes a slight decrease in its quality. I still think that it’s great but sometimes it gets repetitive which makes the beat get old quick. I am happy with Aviv being more present in his music though.

Best Tracks: Fool, Head, URL Irl, Dissolve, Realms, (Self 100): Know WHO You Are, (View 100): Picture ME Gone, Don’t Ever Look Back

Worst Track: Vibrations

Aphex Twin - Richard D. James Album
80

A very exciting instrumental album is what this is. The synths are used very well and I love those drums. They can really make a song amazing. This album did a great job at being unpredictable, as I would constantly wonder what the next track would sound like.

Top 3 Tracks: Fingerbib, Peek 824545201, Carn Marth

Worst Track: Girl/Boy Song

1999 WRITE THE FUTURE - hella (˃̣̣̥╭╮˂̣̣̥) ✧ ♡ ‧º·˚
50

It’s impressive how good of an album was made despite being so corny, even though the album isn’t really good. In the first half, I felt that there were some great songs and that they might have an actually good album. But the second half came and brought this and started playing this anime waifu ass music. How do you go from Griselda to uwu? Sorry Viatic. I hope you enjoyed GUMBO!

Best Tracks: avOcadO SHakE, SPIKY BOiz, LiGhT rAiLs, L'Eggo MY EGO, COuGhDrOPs, MiNt cHoCoLaTe, ... read more

BROCKHAMPTON - The Family
90

It may not seem like it to others, but I think that this album does a great job at summing up the drama between the group. I also think that musically, this is one of the group’s best with its J Dilla inspired production and its clever writing. Even though this is pretty a Kevin Abstract album, he still does very well at making this album stand out in their catalog.

Top 3 Tracks: Brockhampton, The Family, Big Pussy

Worst Track: Prayer

Pink Siifu - GUMBO'!
80

There is a great amount of diversity shown from Pink Siifu on this album and although very messy, it’s full of quality songs.

Best Tracks: Gumbo'! 4 tha Folks Hold On, Wayans Bros., Bussin' (Cold), BACK'!, 4sho'7, Living Proof (Family), Scurrrrd, SMILE (wit yo Gold), Call tha Bro (Tapped In), Voicemails Downtown, Big Ole

Worst Track: Fk U Mean/ Hold me Dwn

Conway The Machine & The Alchemist - LULU
85

LULU is an EP with every song being absolute heat. This is mostly because of the grimy production on The Alchemist’s part, although Conway does bring some very impressive verses on this thing. These things come together to make one amazing EP.

Best Tracks: The Contract, Shoot Sideways, Calvin, Gold BBS's

Worst Track: 14 KI's

Niontay - Dontay's Inferno
60

Niontay’s debut studio album has some good songs and production, but it also has some songs that are unfocused without figuring itself out until it’s already over.

Best Tracks: Da City of a Hunnid Plays, Wheredeyat???, 1000 Miles Away…

Worst Track: 06' Micheal Redd

MIKE & Tony Seltzer - Pinball
75

MIKE and Tony Seltzer had surprised us with a collab album. MIKE is actually mixing with these beats really well. When Tony collaborated with Wiki, it felt very unnatural and Wiki didn’t feel like he belonged on those beats. MIKE doesn’t seem to have the same problem as he flows very well with them.

Best Tracks: On God, Underground Kingz, Yin - Yang, R&B, Reminiscing, 2k24 Tour

Worst Track: Pinball

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
90

This is the type of record where you can just press play and let the time fly by. It’s an album that will be remembered for a long time for its music, art, and representation.

Top 3 Tracks: Shine On You Crazy Diamonds Pts. 1-5, Shine On You Crazy Diamonds Pts. 6-9, Have a Cigar

Worst Track: Welcome to the Machine

Yeat - Lyfë
40

12 SONGS IS NOT AN EP YEAT!!

Yeat shows potential for a better sound on a couple songs, but it still doesn’t catch on to the rest of the EP.

Best Tracks: Flawlëss, Wat it feel lykë, Can’t stop it

Worst Track: Systëm
