Mac Miller - Circles

As someone who had never intentionally listened to Mac Miller before this album, I felt like I had been missing out all this time. With the release of this posthumous album, Miller was clearly hurting and in pain as evident by just the first three tracks alone. This LP as a whole highlights the struggles of addiction, fame, and all that comes with popularity in an hour package. Having no experience with Mac Miller or really knowledge of his music before his death, I can feel the closure and ... read more

Rameses B - Cosmonauts

I don't have a ton to say about this album. It's quite a bit different from Rameses B's regular liquid drum & bass style with a heavy emphasis on garage/trip-hop. It's a decent album with not much oomph to it. Good for chill/lo-fi playlists.

This album started off very strong. The top 3 tracks feel like bliss, but after that, the album starts to lack. I think there were too many transition tracks throughout the LP and while it helped the thematic elements Moses Sumney was trying to accomplish, it feels more like an art project than a musical album (that's not a bad thing). I'm interested to see what the next part(s) bring.

BABY GRAVY - Baby Gravy 2

This album sucks. The mastering is awful and the beats are generic rap trap beats. There is nothing interesting happening in this album. This is the perfect example of how rap has devolved from its glory days. Nowadays anyone can "rap", and just because they can, doesn't mean they should.

Green Day - Father of All…

The style and thematic of this album are strong, but it lacks in length. This album struggles to produce songs with strong sustenance. Green Day knows where they are heading with this album but with 10 songs they only go 26 minutes long. I think this could have served better as an EP rather than a "full-length" album. Nevertheless, the bands rip through this album in hard-hitting chords, solos, and riffs. I think Green Day should have sat on this album another 6 months, extended their ... read more
