There's clearly a lot here that I'm not getting. I'll need to go through their previous group's work (Injury Reserve) to really internalize everything. But I can at least tell that there's some mourning of a lost friend or loved one going on here.
Favorite song is "Can I Have You for Myself?"
Least favorite song is "Grapefruit"
If you like Lamb of God, this will not surprise you or go in any unexpected directions. But it is their best album in a while.
Favorite song is "Sepsis"
Least favorite song is "A Thousand Years" (disappointingly, it is not a cover a Christina Perri)
I was not expecting a lot from this, but damn, that was really strong. If you like southern rock, you'll really like this.
Favorite song is "Cruel Streak"
Least favorite song is "Queen of the B-Sides"
I was disappointed. Aside from the title track, there's nothing here.
Favorite song is the title track
Least favorite song is "Songs I'd Rather Not Sing"
Perfectly solid time. I have nothing to say about CeeLo Green as a person.
Favorite song is "I Amnesia"
Least favorite song is "Boy Genius"
It starts off well, but everything after the fourth song is just aggressively okay. The first two tracks are good, but there wasn't much there that grabbed me.
Favorite song is "Aperture"
Least favorite song is "Coming Up Roses"
It's more of Rob Zombie's stuff. Whether that's a good or bad thing depends on how much you like Rob Zombie's earlier work.
Favorite song is "F.T.W. 84"
Least favorite song is "Revolution Motherfuckers"
Nothing quite like reckoning with the loss of love from a sad girl.
Favorite song is "I'll Change for You"
Least favorite song is "Where's My Phone?"
It feels like she can't decide if she wants to be Billie Eilish or Charli XCX, so she splits the difference and ends up sounding like neither.
Favorite song is "Yes Baby"
Least favorite song is "You're Still Everything"
This was better than last year's album. Marcus Mumford's a good songwriter, and he has a good knack for guests artists who make sense (Chris Stapleton, Hozier, Gracie Abrams)
Favorite song is "Conversation With My Son (Gangsters & Angels)"
Least favorite song is "Alleycat"
It's not the next TOOL album, but I guess it'll do for now.
Favorite song is "A Public Stoning"
Least favorite song is "Pendulum"
Men will literally make an album talking about their relationship problems before going to therapy.
Favorite song is "ATM"
Least favorite song is "All the Signs"
Pretty good time, though it does on for a bit too long for my liking. If it was like one song shorter, I would bump it up to an 80.
Favorite song is "Slave to Master"
Least favorite song is "Trust In Me"
This is their best album since "Plastic Beach". Its themes, its scope, its (oddly emotional) through line... yeah, this is an all-timer.
Favorite song is "The Manifesto"
Least favorite song is "Casablanca"
Country may not be my go-to genre, but I will take a look at some country artists that I think are worth the investment. Zach Bryan is one of them. I may not like just how long this album is, but I'd rather have someone like him than someone like Morgan Wallen.
Favorite song is "All Good Things Past"
Least favorite song is "Camper"
I'm so glad he's back. He may not make music often, but when he does, it's elite.
Favorite song is "On My Soul"
Least favorite song is... I don't know... probably "I Just Might"? It's not bad, it's just kind of an obvious choice of single.
Christ in hell, man...
Favorite song is "The Numbers"
Least favorite song is "Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor Rich Man Poor Man Beggar Man Thief"
This is better than I would have expected it to be. Not a masterpiece by any stretch, but enjoyable and even kinda funny in some spots.
Favorite song is "Future Tripping"
Least favorite song is "Tell Me That Won't Happen"
Probably their weakest album since their debut, but that's still pretty good.
Favorite song is "Morning Mr. Magpie"
Least favorite song is "Bloom"
