An insight into her eventual plan to dominate the world. Listening to this album after she's already fulfilled her plan to start a "Femininomenon" as she said feels like the moment in the movie when the protagonists realize how the antagonist's plan lead to their exact goal all along. A formidable effort into furthering a rising LGBTQ+ (specifically lesbian) pop scene with plenty of enjoyable hits such as "Red Wine Supernova" and ... read more

An album so good it go its own season! All kidding aside this is a very enjoyable project by Charli and feels like it really filled a missing section of electronic music we maybe didn't even know was missing. Being an unrelenting love letter to the club scene, this project is jam packed with amazing synth riffs and melodies, drum machines that really pop, and Charli's autotuned voice that completes the aesthetic scene she's wanting to create. It feels robotic ... read more
The middle of a seeming trilogy of genre exploration, Beyonce turns her aim towards country music and southern culture, a very unwelcoming place for outsiders. In a two pronged effort, first providing her take on a more classical country sound most likely similar to the one she grew up listening to and then following it up with establishing her domain on a modern southern US with bringing her own sound to Southern living. Reminded me a lot of what Megan Thee Stallion is doing for the south. An ... read more
Feels very raw and honest in a way that reminded me a lot of Joni Mitchell. I don't have a lot of Singer-Songwriter listening experience but you can really feel the tragedy of the life of Nick Drake here, knowing there's even more arguable tragedy from the fact he never got to live to see himself become acclaimed. A record that really shows you don't have to sing or play loudly to cut through silence. You can just as easily do it with a gentle voice and some intricate guitar ... read more
Very Lewis Capaldi and Lukas Graham coded. Someone on Tiktok described this as "The Voice/Talent Show audition pop" and that's a better description that I could think up. Just very boring instrumentally and a voice that varies from uninteresting to overbearing. Lyrics are unimaginative. This isn't stomp and holler like the genre tag says this is a gentle foot tap and slight pinch of the fingers.
I'm not sure if this is more devastating with the story of the album or just coming into it with no other context. But for what it wants to be, it's the perfect version of it.
I will say I don't think Gabbie is a bad vocalist. For a Viner/Youtuber she's pretty alright. Her biggest vocal problem is over singing (I'm sure we all remember the genius interview memes). But with only okay singing at its best, lyrics that come off as trying way too hard and flat, boring production, we get a bad project. There's nothing here across the tracklist that doesn't come off as a worse version of something that's already been done (I can tell Gabbie ... read more
I don't think Nickelback is the worst band ever, as I suspect most people don't most likely due to a combination of reduced exposure, meme value, and much worse bands and artist coming forth since Nickleback's peak. I will also give them a bit of credit for trying to change their sound up (anyone who's seen the Trainwreckords will know their long time producer went to Nashville and made country music sound horrible there). However, this is for certain a bad album overall. ... read more
Somewhere between ironic enjoyment and genuine enjoyment, not sure how the ratio works out. But if you forced me to listen to a nickelback song I'd consider this one at the front of my list
I would say this is a pretty lateral move from self-titled to here. This also has a great run of tracks from 2-8. The last leg of the record is still good. Everything you enjoyed about the first record is here. Every member maintains having a pretty memorable moment somewhere on the track list. Joey Jordison remains an absolute standout for the group. I know this was a difficult personal time for the band at large so I'm glad they not only made a great record but managed to continue making ... read more
A release of concentrated rage. Tracks 2-6 is an amazing run of songs. Certainly a top loaded project that still has a good tail end (except for Purity which is great). With so many members and instruments you'd think that not everyone would be heard but I think has at least pretty memorable part through the album. The arguable star for me is the drums. I had always heard how good Joey Jordison was and this is a really strong showing for him. Corey has some good vocals but his rapping ... read more
10/7/25-> Geese's getting killed to me was everything this album is for some other people. Realizing how honest I need to be and how much I cannot stand the vocals and how slow this album is at some time. It's a good album and dare I say great in some parts but some for others I personally can't enjoy. I can't say I like it as much as I respect it and understand why it hits some people differently.

A true display of vulnerability coupled with an experimental journey through music inspired by famed female musicians of the past. I previously thought Halsey's voice, while good, was a bit inflexible. While that proves true for some tracks where there feels like a disconnect, other genres work surprisingly well with her voice. An interesting idea for an album done welI enough I would say.
SZA's debut album quickly led her to take the throne for modern female R&B queen with a raw and frank portrayal of sexuality and femininity. Bringing a voice that has a perfect balance of power and restraint when both are needed with some really interesting production choices, this album provides a really enjoyable listening experience.

Excellent songwriting and performances for sad people, by sad people. The title track has a lofty reputation that it absolutely lives up to as a truly amazing song and several other great tracks like "The New Year", "Title and Registration" and "Passenger Seat" really make this a tour de force for emo.
This album is like if the "theater kid" trope made some of the best music possible. It's dramatic and over the top in the absolute best way possible. It feels like it should be playing on a stage where Kate has a hundred costume changes and there's a bunch of prop switching going on in the background to create a new scene. Not breaking any ground by saying also it has lasting influence and it really could have come out in any year after it actually did and still sound fresh ... read more
