Why I chose to listen to this at work knowing there's a good chance I would cry I'll never know

The singles you know are good as ever and everything else is a solid 8. Just a really consistent record with great vocals by Stevie Nicks. Takes inspiration from a couple different genres including Country which I thought I wouldn't like but actually her voice went really well with a twangier instrumentation. Great work
What I probably should have been listening to instead of playing my PS2 in '05 (actually, should've done both). Just an incredibly concentration of anger and frustration with the world while also being vulnerable and frail emotionally. Gerard's vocals are fantastic and he's backed up by some really great work from the rest of the band. Will it be better than Black Parade? Stay tuned!
(Edit: It is indeed better in my opinion than Black Parade)
The singles you know from this project absolutely hold up, but a lot of the other tracks fall pretty flat. "When I see You Again" is my least liked Mac song yet. As others have pointed out, the "Little Lies" to "Family Man" transition feels like a cliff Wile E. Coyote would fall from
From someone who didn't really know what I expected the vocals to sound like, WOW. Really evocative talented vocals throughout the whole project. Add some really strong instrumentals and a relaxing and enjoyable feeling throughout and you get a great listen. I haven't listened to much Jangle Pop but if it has this sound I am very interested.
Yeah I feel like all the good jokes have been taken already
Listening to this album was very important for my own understanding of music I like because it taught me the difference between music that feels loud and music that feels grand. One is right in your face past where you want it to be and the other just makes you stand in awe of its power and truly epic feel. This project really feels like sitting in a small seat in a massive theater while Simz stands as a giant above you and empties her soul for anyone willing to listen. All of the production ... read more

The first Fleetwood Mac album with newly added power couple Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, I have to say I enjoyed this listen a significant amount more than Rumors. I would say this album's duo of hits "Rhiannon" and "Landslide" match the quality of Rumors' "Dreams" and "The Chain". "Monday Morning" is a significantly better opening track than "Second Hand News". "Warm Ways", "Say You ... read more

Nobody makes harmony out of insanity and messiness like Fleetwood Mac (figuratively and literally). A good listen throughout. Some definite lows like "Songbird", "Second Hand News" and "Oh Daddy" but a good amount of beloved classics like "Dreams" and "The Chain". Not much else to say than it's good. (It would be better with Silver Springs but we'll get to that edition later.)
My fiancée warned me "you're about to make a lot of people that love Tumblr very upset" when I told her what I thought about this album. It also does not feel good in general to be in the minority of dissenters when it comes to any album but alas...no I did not enjoy this album. It just felt very in your face in abrasive in a way I didn't like. The mixing made everything feel too loud. Some of the synth tones were really harsh to my ears. The singing had some good ... read more
As much as I love Freddie's work with Madlib, I'm really glad this project got made because I feel there's a lot of chemistry here and tracks that wouldn't have been made otherwise. Alchemist's dreamy production pairs surprisingly well with Gibbs' complex raps about all facets of the gangster life. "Something to Rap About", "1985" and "Scottie Beam" are standout examples of this. Add some strong features from fellow talented rappers ... read more
There's a lot to like here. Doechii has a flow that stays interesting and has some good punchlines and wordplay and a lot of nice production throughout. To me, this is all overshadowed a huge problem that I haven't encountered yet. Most of these tracks are really hindered by the decision to be so short. I often saw the track was about to end and find myself thinking "man I wish this had another verse or two". A lot of the songs seem to be one verse and a repeated chorus, ... read more
A short burst of energy like a firework of pop and electronic music. Rina's voice is great on here. Instrumentals are vibrant and create a really fun and bouncy listening experience.
I literally cannot associate this with anything except one of my worst exes. She only listened to 5 songs and this one of them. I'm sorry. I know a lot of people love it.
Makes me a very proud New Yorker despite the fact I'm not from any part of the city and live much further upstate. One of the best boom bap, east coast hip hop, just rap albums in general, albums in general. You name it anything this album qualifies as, it's close to the top if not there. A little penalty for One Time 4 Your Mind but otherwise, flawless.
This album marks a change in Slipknot's sound, veering farther away from their Nu Metal origins for a sound with for tracks with more alt rock instrumentation and melodic choruses that showcase Corey's great singing (you can definitely see the roots of Stone Sour forming). However, this is the first album so far in my Slipknot journey where the good tracks really stand out from the more mediocre tracks (The Distance from "Duality" and "Before I Forget" to ... read more
Really enjoyable, credit to Todd in the Shadows for bringing it to my attention. Guitar and synth driven pop is always a very enjoyable sound for me. Honestly I like it a lot more than "Untouched". Hopefully it can get some late stage Tiktok fame or something that brings it to more people's radars.
The rage burns on for one more album. The roots in their sound are still present and have some newer grooves incorporated. While it doesn't have the groundbreaking impact of the first album, I would say it's a step above with "Evil Empire". I'm sure by now some people feel their best tracks are behind them but I personally find "Testify" "Guerilla Radio" "Calm like a Bomb" and "Sleep Now in the Fire" to be essential RATM tracks ad ... read more
Completing the Blood Orange quadrilogy, I find this to be the weakest entry. If we are comparing Blood Orange to Prince (which many have including myself and I believe he warrants the comparison) while his other albums may have come from the Prince hay day, this feels more like a later period. Not in the 90s or 2000s prince but rather than a "Purple Rain" or a "Sign O' The Times" this feels more like a "Lovesexy" or "Diamond and Pearls" equivalency. ... read more
